EMH at animal kingdom-crowded?

Most EMH's tend to be crowded espescially the evening ones because a large amount of resort guests ALL flock to that one park! It's still fun but not quite the light crowds you might expect. :)

Just got back on Tuesday and did the morning EMH at AK. The crowds were light. We were there until about 3 and didn't have trouble riding or seeing anything. I would suggest getting there at park opening so you can ge the Safari out of the way and have time to do the other stuff.

By the way, we went to MK later that day for dinner, and it was very crowded.

we didn't do any mornings so I can't help you there. We did do the evening one. My best advice is to find out what's going to be open before you plan on going. We went on 9/15 or 9/16, either a Thurs or Fri. The cm's at the gate were actually turning people away, telling them not to waste a day if they had hopper passes! There was very little open. We got there around 6ish, there were no shows, Camp Mickey/Minnie was closed, no character meets elsewhere, no safari, the trails were closed. The only things I remember being open were the Boneyard playground, Dinosauer, the arcade area, the flying dino ride (can't remember the name, it's like Dumbo), Primevilwhirl, and the rapids ride.

Hi: That is what I wondered, being in dec that it gets dark sooner I couldn't see how they would drive the safari around. I would think that it would not be safe for the animals in the dark.

Deb.

We just returned as well and went to evening hours last week. It was not crowded at all. The Safari was not open but in addition to the Dinoland area & Kali, Bugs Life was open and there was one show of both Tarzan and Lion King, so I would say there was plenty to do in three hours. It was also neat to see the park in the "dark". Finally there were character greetings - Mickey, Lilo, & Stitch by the Island Mercantile that we met.

Both morning and evenings were crowded during our visits (4 trips so far this year). AK just doesn't handle crowds very well.

I agree - any crowd at AK is too much of a crowd. I never feel claustrophic at the other parks, no matter how crowded, but at AK, I always do.

Have never done AK - for those of you doing EMH there - is 3 about the time you finish the park if you have taken in all shows?

We are going in January & it is the first time we have been to AK (and also the first Disney trip without any children - only friends)
