EMH and EMM?

Not a newbie but it has been a while since I've gone to WDW. I know what EMH is but what is EMM? Extra Mickey Mouse? ;-)
From reading this board I understand you have to book your EMH- like when you book fast pass? Does it cost anything?
Thanks!

EMH are either the extra morning hour or extra 2 evening hours of park time at designated parks on designated days for guests staying at WDW resorts. There is no booking. Eligibility is proven by tapping your MB on the tapstiles.

EMM (extra magic morning) is a separate hard ticket event currently available only at MK for $69/pp (in addition to a regular park ticket) on designated days that is available to anyone who wants to pay. You can enter an hour before regular park opening and can ride 3 rides (I think it's SDMT, WTP and PP ) as often as you want, and then have a breakfast buffet at Pinocchio's.

So for $300 or so my family of five can have breakfast and 3 rides? Are they out of their minds?????

Thank you minnie mum for telling me the difference between the 2.

Well, the way I look at it is I wouldn't do it...but I think that $300 is better spend than paying out of pocket to go to Chef Mickey. If eating at your resort or in the park you're looking at probably $10 or so per person so it breaks down to about $59 per adult. Let's say you are able to ride Mine Train 5 times, Pooh two times and Pan two times you're looking at a cost of about $6.50 per person, per ride.

So it depends on how you want to rationalize it. 70 bucks for an hour of rides and a fast food breakfast is a lot of money. With tax, that’s over $300 for a family of four on top of admission. But you can do 12+ hours worth of stuff in that time if you consider waits later in the day. On the other hand, you may well have no interest in the rides themselves, which makes it an easy pass. I find Mine Train extremely charming and it’s fun to photograph, so I was more than happy to ride a few times.

Breakfast does the job – it’s similar to Be Our Guest Restaurant in quality, though you get to eat as much as you want. But the atmosphere is arguably less enchanting. I’m not sure what value you should attribute to it, but a similar meal would cost you ~$20 elsewhere. (Be Our Guest is $24/adults while Crystal Palace with better food and characters is $30/adults.)

Now that we’re 2,500 words in, I can say that yes, I think a lot of people will find value here. It is a memorable event and something you will look back at fondly – walking through Magic Kingdom as the sun is rising, riding Mine Train eight times in a row, eating unlimited cheese at Pinocchio Village Haus. For $45 more than just breakfast at Be Our Guest Restaurant?

I’d consider it.

I think that yes some people can find value in this, as long as the price remains at this price point and the number of tickets sold is not increased. But we all know what Disney will do if they determine this as a successful event. I believe when either or both of the numbers above are altered, they will see a decrease in sales.

If they were to offer this on mornings when there is a special hard ticket event I think it would be smart. It gives you extra time on a day when the park closes early.

Yes and no. The target here is more for those who stay off-site and have no access to anything early or late. The extra money gets them in the park early and gets two very crowded rides done in that time. It also puts them in position to get a few other high crowded rides done right at regular park opening. Then they have a buffet breakfast to keep them going through the day. They can fill up and probably only need one more QS meal for the day.

I realize I am pretty late to this information but this is the first time I have heard about EMM. After reading this thread, I thought it was mentioned above that this was only for those staying at WDW resorts? Therefore, this would not be an advantage to those staying off site. I would just rather just plan my day so that I can ride things throughout the day and not pay an extra park fee. We use the dining plan so having a meal included in the price isnt a plus for me. All my food is paid for before I get there. It's definitly not something my family of 5 would ever do.

I agree - There would have to be some excitement going on for my family of 5 to pay an extra $350 for park entrance.

Unlimited rides for the duration on those 3 rides. My DD would love unlimited rides on 7DMT for a hour.

EMM is open to anyone with a MK or hopper ticket valid that day.

Do you guys that have been to MK on these EMM days see an increase in the attendance of the "regular" hours, such as what happens with EMH?

No, there are only a few hundred spaces available for EMM. I believe estimates are around 250-300. Most attendees report riding before rope drop, then going to breakfast once the park opens.

Okay good. Thanks! EMM is happening on our one day at MK, and we opted not to do it, but was worried that it would bump up the crowds.

No, EMH is the one that is for resort guests only. EMM is for everyone/anyone who wishes to pay the extra amount in addition to their park ticket for the day.

If you read through all the reviews for both the one at MK and the one at HS you'd be hard pressed to find a single person who did it come out and say it was awful and a waste of time.
We've done both a few times and will do them again (and the night version at MK if it ever returns)
Funny thing is we aren't usually types who like multiple rides on things but this was a blast.
You can't discount the value of the breakfast either. Compare it to one of the buffets. No, there are no characters (unless you count the ones included in the list of attractions open at HS) but the food is similar and all you can eat. Timed right it gets you both breakfast and lunch

It's not for everyone but for some it's worth it. The breakfast is a buffet if that matters.

We did DHS, loved it. Have not done MK yet.

I did HS as well. Worth every penny, and will do it again at either park if it's offered for our next visit. I almost want to keep it under wraps it was so awesome. Photo opps in an empty park, meet/greets and empty attractions. Add in the buffet and it was worth every penny. The buffet wasn't garbage, it was Disney decent. I'd guess the buffet itself would be near half the price alone - definitely ay least a third of the price (disney prices, I mean.)
