EMH and b-day buttons?

Howdy y'all. I've got a few questions regarding birthday buttons.

1) The first full day we are at WDW is my sons' birthday. I am planning on going to MK that day. Since it is early entry, I know the whole park won't be open yet. Will we be able to get the buttons when we arrive? Or will we have to go back at normal opening time?

2) I am worried we may need to hop over to EPCOT at lunch time since it is EMH day. Are the buttons the same at each park?

3) What do the buttons look like? I'd like to make sure I put them in shirts that will contrast the button color.

Thanks!

The Birthday Button is available at City Hall in the MK. They also have a very cute birthday hat that looks like a cake with candles on it that is available to buy. I used to think that the only birthday button they had was at the MK. However on our last trip I saw a birthday button from the AK. I don't know about the rest of the parks. Good luck and happy birthday to your special someone.:bounce:

P.S. The MK button has a white backround with the character on it. The one from AK has alot of green on it. I don't recall if the backround is green or is it that the tree of life is on it with characters around it?

There are 3 different birthday buttons.

MK and MGM have the same button. It features the castle and says 'Happy Birthday' or something to that effect.

AK birthday button features the Tree of Life.

Epcot birthday button has birthday wishes in different languages and does not feature a Disney icon at all.

All the buttons are white - with the words and artwork in color.

Hope this helps!

Do you know how much they are? Are they also available in the resorts? We have three birthdays this trip.

The pins are free!

You can go to guest relations at any theme park and ask for one.

I do not believe that you can get them at the resorts.

One of mine is turning 16 also-let me know how your DS takes it!

Mom_rules - For his 15th BDay last year he went to MGM (his favorite park). After entering the park I slipped off to guest relations and got him the pin. He was embarrassed and refused to wear it - he had brought a female friend and was trying to impress her.

Well, the friend thought the button was a cute idea, and well you know, men are will do anything to impress a girl! So he ended up wearing it all day and loved all the attention it brought him from CM's and other guests.

He even enjoyed the special call he got from Goofy! He was in the Villain's store and a CM asked him if he got his special call. He said "No" so she called a number and Goofy wished him a "Happy Birthday!". He thought that was cool.

So, even a teenager can be impressed by the characters!

Thanks for the information everyone. You have to like the speed at which you can find information here! :D If anyone knows whether City Hall is open so I can get the pin during the EMH, I'll be all set!
