family leaves in 10 days for our 10 year wedding anniversery trip, we were just going to buy our first APa down in WDW, but see tonight re: the price increase. if i order online to save the $80 (or so), i am worried i won't receive my vouchers in the mail in time before we fly out. what do you vets think? maybe it worth just waiting and paying the extra to not have any anxiety this week, or if i buy online tommorrow, saturday, maybe the vouchers would for sure arrive by tues or weds. HELP!

am i correct that i must have the vouchers to pick up the AP's, or would they have a record of my purchase and just need DVC card and driver's licence?

It's late and it's been a long day so I may not be remembering correctly, but I think there might be a "will call" option where you can buy now, and pick up the vouchers when you get there? You might want to check the Theme Parks board because there are more frequent ticket-related discussions there. Do a search there for "will call" and see if anything useful turns up!

Good luck!

I just posted on a thread on this board that I was finally able to get the hyperlinks to work to order on line. There are options to pay $3 and the vouchers will arrive by 14 days, or pay $10 and they will come express (don't recall that it said the timeframe, but for $10 it should be quick), or the option for "will call".

There's an icon on the right side of the DVC Home page. It didn't work for at least 30 minutes, and I finally got a hyperlink to work in the section on DVC AP Discounts. Now the hyperlink on the Home page seems to be working......sporadically. Takes you directly to ordering with the $100 discount noted. Good luck!

I just ordered my AP's online through the hyperlink the previous poster just told you about. There is DEFINITELY an option for will call/ pickup for no charge.

It's a very easy ordering page; I was suprised at the ease of it.

Sign into the DVC member site, and find the DVC AP discount info. There will be a hyperlink there.

Good luck!

thanks kda, i went over to the site. the "express" is "up to 7 days delivery", and then there is the "will call" option, which is free, to just bring my confirmation number to the ticket window, does this mean the conf number i would get after i purchas online? has anyone ever done this? i am getting a bit more comfortable with the idea of odering online tommorrow, and then doing a "will call" pick-up, but i would love to hear from someone who has atually done this. maybe i can call general member services tommorrow and ask about it, even if i want the DVC discount, they might know something.

i LOVE this DIS!

You get a confirmation number on your screen the minute you order, and I was sent an email within 5 minutes of that as well.

I ddidn't order will call, but I was impressed at how fast I received that confirmation email.

I did will call pickup last year for my AP. Once you complete your order you will be shown a page with a bar code to print to bring to the ticket window. You present that, your DVC membership card and a photo ID.

I just renewed our DVC AP's on line, and used the "will call" option. 2 pages come up for you to print and bring with you to a WDW ticket sales location. We've done "will call" before and have never had a problem. Just bring your will call certificate and a valid picture ID, the directions are on the certificate that you print out.

Just want to clarify ... hope you don't mind if I jump in...

If I get the AP voucher sent to me in the mail OR if I choose the "will call" option, either way I will need to present these at a ticket sales location to get the actual AP's?

Is this the same as a Guest Services window ?

And, I can't do this at my resort, correct ? Only at say the International Gateway ... or will the Magic Kingdom ticket window be OK (still undecided where we are heading our first night !)?

Thanks !

You can't get AP's at your resort. Any park ticket window or guest services can activate your vouchers.

thank you all! this helps a lot. i will be buying my AP's today and doing the will call. this is the first year we are doing more than one trip in a year to WDW, (i know, i know, the implications are staggering, once we get addicted to more than one trip, we are going to be off and buying more points!) lol

we leave in 9 days for our 10 year wedding anniversary, staying at BWV for a short 4 day trip. then, our annual pilgramage to VB after xmas for a few days, then off to VWL for 7 days. (plus, my wife and i just found out about a conference we are going to at Coranodo in Nov, and the afternoons and evenings are free to do the parks, now the question is whether to pull our 2nd grader and kgrtner out of school for that one)

anyways, with the DVC discount, AP's are a no brainer to save money, and we ill actually do many more days in the park than had we bought MYW tickets.

"welcome to the next level of Disney Addiction!"

thanks again for all your help, and especially thank-you to the DIS posters and organizers, thiis is really such a valuable resource to our family.

We've done "will call" with almost all of our ticket purchases and it is "easy as pie" AND--saves me from packing the passes, lol! :)

Member services at any of the parks will be able to get you your tickets--you can't get them at your resort hotel.

Make sure to bring your receipts (print them after you purchase online), and photo ID's for all people picking up passes (although when our kids were little, they did not need ID's--as soon as they had picture ID's for school, they found it fun to give their ID's, too!)

I usually have with me the credit card on which I put the purchase, too--just in case they need it.

You may also need your blue card for verification of DVC membership. Can't remember if CM at DTD GR asked for it or not or if it is only if you are buying the pass there that day.

I did the cheap mailing on my renewal. I did print out the confirmation. I figure if they don't show Disney can use that to track them down and replace them (I have had Guest Services track down MVMCP tickets I purchased on line with less then that LOL!)

Even though the renewal info on the site says that you can renew as much as 30 days in advance of your AP expiration, I did a renewal now for my DVC discounted AP and the current pass doesn't expire until the end of April, 2007. I'll have the discounted renewal ready to turn in during my April 2007 trip to renew my pass then, but I paid the current renewal rate today rather than the increased rates next year.

We bought AP's online in December 05 and activiated them in Jan 06. We had printed out the page and took it to the ticket window as it said. They had no clue what to do with it and it would not register in their computer. We then had to go wait in a long line at the guest services window (this was at Epcot) where they issued the tickets and apologized for the mistake. So back in Jan, we went to Guest Services window and not the ticket window.

Good luck!!

Good point; I had forgotten about that! Yes, you do need to show your DVC card.

They may take your resort ID with "DVC member" on it, but I have a feeling that they are supposed to only accept verification with our actual DVC blue ID card. After all, you may have guests staying on points--their room cards would also say, "DVC member" even though they aren't really members.

(Last year we brought two friends with us/shared a room with them--their cards did say "DVC member" ) I think that is the reason that places taking our discount are supposed to see the blue ID card, rather than just looking at our resort room keys.

Just did the same thing myself with my DVC AP's that expire in November.

Welcome to the boards, EpiscoDisFan! Make sure you buy those APs today (Saturday) because I think the price increase takes effect on Sunday.

And Happy Anniversary!!
