I know that if you are a member of Natl's Emerald Club your spouse can drive the car also for free. My DH is not going on this trip but my MIL is. Can she drive for free instead of him or does it have to be a spouse?

Here is part of an email I got from National on this issue.
A person is considered an authorized driver if he/she has either of the following relationships to the renter:

· A member of the Emerald Club renter's immediate family who permanently resides with him/her (including common law marriages, married couples with different last names, and same gender relationships).

· A business partner, employee or regular employee who drives the vehicle
for business purposes.

When arriving at the location they will advise you at the exit booth if
they need information on her such as her drivers license.
