Emerald Aisle Question

I currently hold two reservations for my upcoming trip at the end of September. Wondering which is my better option (and if I'm understanding Emerald Aisle correctly). Both are for 8 days.

Option 1 - Midsize car $222.03

Option 2 - Midsize SUV $232.14

I would ideally like some type of SUV. So if I'm understanding for Emerald Aisle correctly, with Option 1, I would take my chances and see what is on the Aisle, and end up with, at minimum, a midsize car. Or with Option 2, my ONLY choice is the midsize SUV (NO Emerald Aisle option)?

Absolutely correct.

If an SUV is what you truly truly want to have, and you would be unhappy with a midsize, don't do the Aisle.

I believe that some will keep both reservations, go to the Aisle and see what's there, and THEN cancel the reservation that doesn't work for them. That makes me uncomfortable personally, but everyone has their own limits. National doesn't *seem* to be charging for late cancellations of reservations.

Keep both reservations. Check out the aisle first. If you see a SUV you want on the aisle, simply cancel the second reservation before you get to the booth.

If you don't see a SUV on the aisle, go to the reserved SUV's and cancel the midsize reservation before getting to the booth.

I'm curious though, at only $10 more why not keep the reserved one for what you need.

And then pack your patience. When you drive to the exit you will probably still have 2 reservations. It is not as "instant" as posters on here believe. So you may have to work at making sure you got the right rate

Was just curious if I'd be missing something I'm not thinking of (or not aware of, since I've never used Emerald Aisle) such as giving up more possible options of vehicles. I will likely just go with the SUV reservation. :thumbsup2
