I am looking for reviews on either Embassy Suites LBV or Doubletree Guest Suites..I know they do not offer extra magic hours but we never stayed off site and we want more room but we want to be close to the parks. now I am worried about the parking and taking the tram just to get into the parks..Our friends do it and have no trouble at all.. I am weighing our options here, we always stay on site, but we want a bigger room and cannot really swing a suite on site...I have been on the DVC trade or rent boards but so far no luck..

Any other suggestions of off site, close to parks suite hotels??

Have you considered renting a pool home / villa in the area? You'd get a MUCH nicer place for about the same (or much less) than a traditional hotel room.

Check out Windsor Hills Resort!

The only thing these kinds of resorts don't offer is daily maid service, that sort of thing, but you're getting a pool home with a huge amount of space, a full kitchen, and all the resort amenities (pool, clubhouse, etc) for a fraction of the cost of a hotel room (or suite!).

I'm going to agree with 5mins2disney--check out the vacation homes.

As you can see by my signature, I am mostly an "on site" person, but I booked a last minute Easter trip and couldn't get ANYTHING on site. I booked the Doubletree Suites and also the SpringHill Suites as a backup (I actually needed two suite rooms as I was travelling with my parents. We ended up going with a vacation home. I'm getting a 4-bdrm townhome for $114 per night (taxes included) and it looks VERY nice. I can tell you more about it when I return. But don't overlook this option.

As far as getting into the parks--it's easy. I did it when I was at the Vistana and it was no problem. Even on site, I usually rent a car and drive to the various parking lots because I hate using a bus.

We stayed at the Doubletree Guest Suites last summer and were very pleased. The prices through MouseSavers www.mousesavers.com are usually very reasonable. The location is almost as close as some of the on site properties and the shuttle is very good as well.
