Embarrassing Your Teenagers

This happened to a friend of mine, many years ago. I have it "filed" in my memory for when Brittany breaks curfew. ;)

My friend & her sister grew up in a very very strict house. Her Mom would let them do nothing, not even church or school dances. Once, when she was about 16, her Mom finally agree to let them go to a school dance. She gave them an 11 pm curfew.

11 came & went with them still at the dance.

Around 11:30 into the dance walks Mom. In her nightgown, housecoat, curlers in her hair covered by a pair of panties (my friend never figured out why she always covered her curlers with panties, but she did.:p )

Mom motioned for them to leave.

They NEVER EVER broke curfew or any other of Mom's rules....

OMG Kimberle! I am definitely going to file that one away for future use!

Kirk, your post made me laugh and brought back some memories. Those italians, ahaha I was in WDW with two of my girlfriends this last year, we had a good time at Alfredo's. My friend kept on threatening that she would take a picture of myself and one of the servers who was hitting on me. After seeing our pictures, I kind of wish we had.

Mine are not teenagers yet, but I thought it was a parental right to embarrass your teenager. It's to get back at them for all the times they embarrassed us when they were toddlers!! ;) :p ;)

Kirk - OMG - I need to go to Alfredo's.......never have! :faint: :lovestruc

I love to embarrass teens......and I don't even have any......yet!

I stole the line from Freaky Friday, but when DD#1 gets out when we drop her off somewhere (practice, meeting, etc.) the other two kids and I all yell 'MAKE GOOD CHOICES!"

Most definetely. Sometimes they let me know by saying, mom you are embarassing me, sometimes I say, oh thats right, you dont want to be seen with me right now etc. Sometimes they say, will you PLEASE stop laughing (ok that was during the mr. deeds movie when adam sandler called the opera guy Mr. French. O.K. my kids didnt grow up with Family Affair), Tells their friends, our mom is a disney freak etc. just to get back at me. Also at the yankee games I am the one who is screaming the loudest and cheering on the guys. Heah, we are in texas so I gotta make some noise! Its fun to be a mom. Also later in life you can always say..remember the time that....:D

I was talking to a friend and she told me this:

"to protest shopping my dad goes around and puts bras on his head and holds up dresses to himself and shouts 'IS THIS A GOOD COLOR?' and ' IT'S A LITTLE SAGGY IN THE BUST!"
