Embarrassing your spouse or so-

i did'nt mean to, but i could'nt find him anywhere in the store! so i asked a cashier if they would do a 'page' for misplaced husbands-said no-try to limit them to kids. i figure he acts like a kid pretty often- so i went to another cashier and told her my 'son' was supposed to meet me at the women's wear counter and could she please page him (gave her my dh's childhood nickname and our last name)-over the speaker for the whole world to hear "x your mommie is tired of waiting for you in the women's wear department-get over there now!" can you say dh was def. NOT amused?

That totally sounds like something I would do! My DH would think it was funny, though, and play it up.

Another wife with a selective hearing DH here!

Several years back I had to go to the doctor. I had strept throat, high fever, and felt terrible. It was winter and really cold that day.

DH drove me to the dr, but on the way back he "needed" to stop for "just a minute" into Lowes.

An hour later after suffering in the cold car since he took the keys with him, I walked into the store and had him paged. He never responded. They paged him twice in fact.

20 minutes after he was paged DH strolled out of the store. He ran into 2 buddies of his, then he went to the restroom, and then he had to find what he needed.

He felt bad, but I was really mad at him.

My DH would have as well. He is a wanderer though so maybe I should threaten him with this .

Many stores these days (Target comes to mind) go into a lock-down at such a request a la Amber Alert. You are fortunate, you didn't cause a bigger problem, like have 30 employees looking for your "son".

My dad did that to me once. I was at a Sears store with my parents. Next thing I know I hear myself being paged. When I went to the customer service station my dad was hysterical . He waited til I walked away & told them he lost his little girl, could they help him find his little girl. They expected a 4 y/o not someone in their 20's (at the time-lol).

I'm with you on this. My first thought was "don't these people have cell phones" My DH wouldn't have found this funny AT ALL

My dh wanders and there's no way you can find him. I can't figure out how he hides 6'1" 250LBs of his redheaded self in a store!!I might have to show him this thread as a threat.
