I KNOW DISNEY BEEN SENDING OUT EMAILS TO CONFIRM YOUR STILL COMING, BUT JUST GOT ONE FOR OUR LABORDAY weekend trip whats the reason behind these emails?

My theory is that they started to send out emails again today for stays through September not only to gauge who's coming/who needs to modify, but to stop people from calling since the language on the confirmation page says that you'll be contacted by a CM if you need to be moved to another resort.

What if you already called and modified but, the email is for your previous hotel which is closed? Should I still confirm? Won't it take me to a place to modify, what has already been modified via phone? Every day brings new confusion to me LOL! Disney, you are a cruel mistress.

I think the system is slow to recognize changes - I received an email about my August trip which I had already canceled the day before.
