Hi: With six trips behind me, still I have never received a email pin number for a discount. I did belong to disneyclub for discounts, but with that gone, and disneyvisa only for americans, I find it hard to get a discount on a wdw trip.

I can't justify paying for example $149.00 a night for a moderate resort, when I know many people from all over are receiving email pins for resorts and paying around $79.00 a night for the same room.

I have called and asked if a pin number is beside my name, but no is always the answer, I have written to find out where to hand in my email address to be on a list, but nothing ever comes in. I realize there is a CAA discount, but just wonder why I have never received a email pin discount.

Have any canadians received pin numbers for discounts.

Also does anyone have the name and address of someone in marketing that I can write a letter not an email to. Thanks,

Deb.

I called recently to see if there was a pin number beside my name too, Deb.

No luck! :(

For my reservation later this month, I used my CAA for a discount. I was disappointed that there was no GP code this time.

I was wondering the same thing. They don't seem to have any problem emailing me surveys - I've had two in the past two weeks.

It wouldn't be so irritaing if I thought there was a chance af a general code or promotion coming out. We're thinking about one of us getting an AP, but I'm sure all the rooms at POR would be gone if we did.

Sigh,

M.

Hi: Yes I too have filled out alot of surveys recently. My hubby works with a big group people, and when any of them are thinking of going to florida or wdw they contact me for info and pics of the resorts. Alot of the people were going to stay offsite, but with the pics I showed them and the info I have managed to change their minds and they stayed onsite. So I am sending them lots of business, lol

Julie have a great trip, what great memories for you and your son. Yes we sure miss those codes at least you received the CAA discount.

I thought about the annual pass route as well, I will have to weight the pros and cons as we only go about every two years, but I would love to go twice a year. lol.

Deb.

Never mind pin mailings - I'm a Disneyland AP and I've never once gotten the AP newsletter. Heck I don't even get a renewal notice!

I just e-mailed them yesterday asking the same question. (I haven't received an answer yet). I mentioned if Canadians were able to get discounts on our rooms, etc, a lot of families would be able to travel down more often. I told them just to fly out of Regina is about $750-$800 a person. So unless I want to drive 8-12 hours to find cheaper airfare, that's a big chunk of change to shell out just to get down there. I'd like to go down this year to check out the site where we want to get married, and speak to a wedding representative down there, but unless a decent deal comes up this year, I'm not sure we'll be able to swing it.

You know what is even funnier is that at OKW our DVC discount which is usually not as good as the AP discount is now actually better than AP. The AP discount was a flat 75 dollars off the rack rate and from what we have been told this is going to be the norm going forth that it will no longer be 40-50% it will be a flat dollar ammount and not nearly as generous as in the past.

Hi Chickkypoo:

Who did you email, the guest services department. I have emailed about a month ago, maybe we should all email them. I would love to get a name of someone in marketing and send a typed letter instead of an email.

Deb.

I went to www.disney.ca , if you go to the Walt Disney World section, at the bottom of the page, there is a link that says contact us. (or you could use this link: http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdwi/en_CA/contact/contactUs )

One of the subjects for your message is Ticket and Package Questions, that's what I put for my message header.

Maybe if we can get enough e-mails in there, letting them know that Canadians feel left out all the time, that perhaps they'll remember us next time they put out an offer!

I've e-mailed my family members as well, and told them to make sure they e-mail Disney!

Ok hold on.... new DVC member here... didn't know we got a special room rate.... what's the usual discount?? Need room for 4 nights of the 14 we are going next year and it would be really nice to be able to get a good discount!!

Guess I really should read at the DVC website!!lol

I got a PIN via email a few days ago. However, the email address used was a .com, and the email address was attached to a Disney user ID in which I gave a US address, and said I was going to a Disney park, but not planning on staying at a Disney resort.

When you think about it (from Disney's point of view) why would they give a discount to someone who goes to a Disney hotel every year? Chances are you'll go again (why give a discount to someone who is planning on going anyway).

BBM the discount is for DVC resorts only not all resorts as far as I remember.

Hello:

I have changed the title of the thread, thinking that if we get a good number of canadians emailing guest services asking to be put on the list to receive email discount codes for the wdw resorts we might make a change.

Deb.

Count me in-just sent my email to WDW.

Count me in! We do go to WDW every year, but we alternate between staying onsite and offsite. We haven't stayed onsite in 2yrs. We bought annual passes a few years ago and went to Disney in the off season. We got the ASSp for $49! With discounts like that, we'd stay onsite more often! But, without Canadians receiving pins and other discounts, we'll have to continue staying offsite more. I hope we can make a difference! :)

I'll be sending an e-mail too ... I've received e-mail surveys from them in the past so there's no reason why they can't send us PIN code e-mails :sunny:

Since we started going to WDW in 1992 I have received 3 postcards and one e-mail. The last postcard was last fall around mid November. I had already booked our trip to WDW in October.

MaryannF,

Do you have a Canadian or an American address registered with them? I know that some one else posted that they received a post card with a pin code, and a pin code in an e-mail, but they had registered with an American address.
