ELSA dress hunt!!!

Here's my update from Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, IL.

We got to the store about 9:45. There were probably 25-30 people in line. Crowd was very orderly and well-behaved. On the shelves, they had playsets, flip flops, tiaras, tumblers, plates, mugs, PJs (four or five styles, including the fancy Elsa nightgown), and swimsuits. Behind the counter, they had plush Sven and Olaf, Anna and Elsa animator dolls, singing Anna and Elsa, and classic Elsa dolls. You were limited to two of any item.

We got two Svens, an Anna tumbler, an Elsa tumbler, a swimsuit in size 2, two classic Elsa dolls, and a singing Anna. The person in front of me got the last singing Elsa. They had a TON of classic Elsa dolls, so everyone in line who wanted one of those got one. They had lots of Olafs and Svens as well. And there were still plenty of animator dolls.

In terms of the dresses, they had a total supply of 46. I did hear that Michigan Avenue in Chicago got 200 dresses. Wow.

The raffle started at 11:15. They had two size 3s and three names, so that was pretty good. Size 4 was the sweet spot. They had six dresses and only two names, so that was pretty crazy. I thought the mom next to me was going to have a nervous breakdown, as she had been deciding between entering for the 4 or the 5/6, and the Disney CM recommended the 5/6 so she could grow into it. If she'd gone with the 4, she would have had one for sure, but they wouldn't let her move her entry to the 4. As the PP said, they are holding back the unsold size 4s for next week's raffle.

On to size 5/6. This was the hot item. They had 18 dresses and well over 30 names entered, so I imagine there were some disappointed people. The woman who was sad about the size 4 did get her name drawn for the 5/6, so she was very happy and relieved.

For the 7/8s, they had 14 dresses and only 18 names, I believe. So most of us got dresses. I was the last one picked, so I was sweating it out. However, when I saw how decent the odds are, I figured, we could definitely do this the next few weekends if we didn't have luck today.

They had eight size 9/10, but I didn't see how many people entered. I think it was eight or nine people, so everyone should have had luck with the 9/10.

The CMs were great, everything was very organized, and all the people I chatted with in line were so nice and excited to get dresses. It was nice to see dresses going to little girls that wanted them and not being snapped up by dealers to be resold on eBay.

I am not in TDS management, but I am curious about the feedback.

The raffle sounds like it went well.

The part of the sale that might need tweaking, is the charge to the cash wrap line for the items behind the counter?? With some line cutting as well. I wonder if they should give out numbers on the line outside the store or something, so there would be no reason to charge in. But that might cause lines to form at 6 am. :confused3

We live in Ottawa but we have family in Toronto. There is no Disney store in Ottawa so we rely on family to pick it up. This morning people were lined since 7:15 am for store in Toronto to open at 10 am for raffle. By the time the store opened there were several hundred people lined up.

So if you only have 30 to 50 lined at your store count your blessings.

Imagine the disappointment of hundreds who waited hours and didn't get a dress. The supply the demand here in Canada is really bad. The lines will only grow longer over next few weeks if they keep doing this.
Sad - we haven't got any dresses for our 2 DDs.

Does anyone have any feedback on the Times Square NYC store?
That's my local Disney Store, but I was away this weekend.

I'll be around next weekend though- so I may go in!

BUT, I think my store opens SUPER early, like 8 am or something crazy like that. I have to double check-
I may just sleep on the streets like the other crazies. LOL
Just kidding...or am I? :crazy2:

Oh man I wish the stores around me had the dress and they were closer!! I am so happy for everyone that got a dress :cool1: I guess I will still be stalking the online store until I find one:surfweb:If I see them come up on the website I will make sure to post on here. Good Luck to everyone still waiting!

That would be awesome of you - thank you!!!
I didn't see any Elsa dresses at Princess Hall. They did have a ton of Anna dolls. MK was super busy though and the store was packed; it's the first Saturday open to Seasonal passholders in a few weeks-maybe today wasn't representive and they'll have better stock in the future. There was a five hour wait for them this morning. Epcot always has (had?) the smaller sizes in stock.

We were there Easter week and there were tons of Elsa dresses in Norway. We went there 3x (looking for Olaf plush and a pin - with no luck) and each time there were 3 walls full of Elsa dresses. Well, the last time we went there was only 1 wall of dresses left and they all looked to be smaller sizes. Still, we were shocked to see so many.

There are tons of pins at MK btw

My DD, who is six, is desperate for an Elsa dress. She asks for very little, so when she asks for something, she really wants it. We were at DLR a couple weeks --no Elsa dress and only size two for Anna. She's disappointed but understands they should be available this summer because they're so popular.

I took her to see "Bears" this week. As she walked out she turned to me and said, "Once the 'Bears' costumes and stuff come out, there should be plenty of Elsa stuff." For some reason that really tickled me. So if you can't get an Elsa dress, go for the Sky costume!

Yahoo! We got one!! Thanks again for the heads up on this!! We arrived at the Disney store at the St. Louis Galleria around 10:20am. There was a huge line, 30 or 40 people long.

I almost went to the St. Louis galleria this morning but decided not to at the last minute because I was worried it would be too crazy. Assuming they'll be doing the same next weekend I guess I'll give it a go. Thanks for the report and glad you got one!

Got my daughters Elsa dress, too. (California) There weren't nearly as many people as I read in other posts. They had a total of 10 dresses for the lottery. Two in a size 3 (one lady was able to get both because no one else had their name in for that drawing), 4 in size 4 (there were 5 people trying for that one), and 4 dresses in size 7/8 and 8 people trying to get it. I was the last name for the last Elsa dress size 7/8. All Frozen merchandise was kept behind the cashier counter. They had: Anna animator doll, Elsa classic 12 (Barbie size) doll, the large singing Elsa doll, Olaf plush, and some nightgowns and T-shirts. The CM said that all Frozen merchandise will be out Saturday mornings only. If anything left, goes to stock room. Cannot shop for it M thru F. All dresses that may come in will be via lottery. Have to say that when I left there was still plenty of Frozen merchandise to be had.

I got one too!!! And so did my niece! San Antonio had 10 dresses in size 7/8 and only 3 people showed up for one.

I got one today too and so did my sister! I just came across this post, but had called our local store yesterday inquiring about the Elsa dress. They told me about the raffle, but wouldn't give any details as to if they did have dresses and how many of each size. I told them I didn't want to drive 45 minutes to waste my time. The cast member said if I were you I would come. Talk about luck in timing. I have one happy little girl who is ready for her BBB appointment now in just over a month!

Just to say, for the dress lottery, you may not have to arrive early. You just have to find out what is the window to register, and when do they pull the names. But for the Frozen plush and dolls, you would have to be there at store opening, I would assume.

Sorry, I should have specified- we are looking for the Elsa dress in size 4.

We have the Anna dress, both the one with the cape (lucked out and bought it around xmas time) and the Coronation dress (got sucked into the desperation vortex and paid $70 at EPCOT for that thing :scared1:).

The plush would be a bonus but REALLY what we want are the 20 inch soft dolls. I could kick myself for not buying them last fall/xmas.

Ok, I just called the Times Square store.

The raffle signup is 10:15-11:15. Right after 11:15 they will raffle off the Elsa dress. She said sometimes they get other costumes, but it's the Elsa one they always have a few of.

Just like the other posters said, other merchandise is held behind the counter on a first come, first serve basis with a 2 item max purchase.

I am definitely going next Saturday. :coffee:

sorry...had to delete the text to my post.
Forgot you can't sell anything on here. Mods, I didn't know how to delete the whole post.

My apologies.

Hopefully Disney has some way to figure out how many dresses to send to each store. i.e. how many dresses to send to a store that has several hundred people lined up every weekend versus how many to send to another that has 10 to 20 lined up.
