Elsa and Anna meet & greet: how long did you wait in line?

We are planning on booking a breakfast at Akershus, but I would hate the tought of one of us missing it and standing in line. My DD LOVES Frozen but I don't know...standing in line for even 2hrs sounds way too long. especially Since we'll only have 4 full days at disney (plus arrival day). But on the flip side, my DD would go crazy to meet them...so can see why parents do wait so long. It just sucks its this busy. We'll be coming in oct so maybe the lines will be less?

Don't count on that. About all they will be able to do for you is maybe cast more performers.

We only waited one hour and 20 minutes! Today (3/6), we got to Epcot at 8:30am and we were about 20 people back from the turnstiles. They opened around 8:53am and as soon as we got through my husband bolted...he got in line at 8:58am. We saw Anna and Elsa at 10:20am.

A pre-9am ADR at Akershus is now probably the most sought after ADR in all of WDW.

We only waited one hour and 20 minutes! Today (3/6), we got to Epcot at 8:30am and we were about 20 people back from the turnstiles. They opened around 8:53am and as soon as we got through my husband bolted...he got in line at 8:58am. We saw Anna and Elsa at 10:20am.

That's not bad compared to some other wait times. Were you at the main gate or IG?

Thank you!! I've been following the threads re: Anna & Elsa, so I was quite anxious about it. My 4yo loves Frozen, so we were going to meet them no matter the wait...glad it didn't take 5+ hours, though. I hope my experience gives others hope!!

This is my situation too. The kids want to meet them, so we'll do it, just hopefully not with the 4-5 hour wait times. It definitely gives me hope.

Some posters have questions about how long they will be spending having breakfast at Akershus as they want to be out the door by 8:45. If everything goes well, your 8 am or 8:05 or even 8:15 reservation will work into those plans. I've had two experiences with breakfast ADRs that did not go as planned and I think people need to have a "Plan B", if possible, ready to go in case there are delays.

We ate a late breakfast at Akershus in 2012, arriving at 1015 for a 1030 check in. The line to get our picture taken with Belle was very slow, so by the time we did that and were seated, it was about 1045. We did not have anything scheduled after that, but if I had been trying to make a fast pass window or something, it could have been stess inducing.

Having your reservation first thing in the morning does lessen the chance for backups like we experienced. However, last year we had an 8:05 ADR at Hollywood Studios, and there was some kind of glitch with the check in at the turnstyles. We didn't get in the gate until 8:10 and then waited while they called our name at the front door. We weren't seated until 8:20 and when I watched the first park guests start to walk by at 8:35, yeah, I was a little stressed. It didn't ruin our day, but it did cause some readjustments to our schedule.

From what I have been reading, looks like numerous people will all be trying to leave the resturant by 8:45, all at the same time. My husband and I have a breakfast reservation there at 8 am in mid May, so we might have those Akershus princesses all to ourselves for several minutes while we stay seated to avoid the exodus rush!

Were the lines again up to 5 hours for people who got in line 20-30 mins after you?

Last week we walked over there right after a big rainstorm came through and waiting 1 hour to see them the CM there said that earlier before the rain the like was almost 6 hours long...

From what I've read, it sounds like it's just as crazy - just starting earlier. As a matter of fact, I'm helping a friend plan for next month - she really wants to do this for her daughter and she scored an 8:05 Askershus reservation, but I told her to make sure it's not an EMH day b/c if it is, the reservation won't help.

Thanks for the little glimmer of hope! This is our plan as well since we don't have dining reservations for breakfast that day. Do you stay on one of the Disney resorts and if so what time did you catch a bus out to Epcot?

I was able to snag a 8:05am at Akershus on a non-EMH day.

Anna & Elsa are the ONLY characters DD wants to meet on this trip. Luckily, my kiddo is 16, so she can stand in line by herself while her daddy and I enjoy breakfast.

Would you recommend being first in the IG line? I know from other threads that it runs the risk of opening up later than the main entrance. I just don't know how hard it is to get to if we are staying at Boardwalk.
