Elsa and Anna meet & greet: how long did you wait in line?

I think the SB line will still be at least 2 hours because of FP feeding in. And the FP will probably back up too, so take line will be around 20-40 mins depending on the time of day, crowds, return times, etc.

It's really hard to say, and will be interesting to see how it plays out. FP usually slows a standby wait way down, but in this case there will be 2 pairs of sisters meeting compared to one pair over in Norway.

The demand will still be very high, but part of that demand will be met with FP.

I believe it, but its so against the old policy of no running, its kind of mind blowing. I remember just a few years ago doing rope drop at HS and not being allowed to even walk faster than the CMs on the way to ToT. People do run at Tokyo DisneySea, they run as soon as they get in for fast passes to the major rides. The CMs are kind of gesturing with their hands to slow down, but they don't actually enforce it. I just hope no one trips and falls of hurts anything on their way to Norway.

We have never run in the park for anything. Except one night in Fantasyland - we had 1 minute to make it to the Carousel for a final ride. We made it :lmao: But literally there was no one around. It had rained earlier and it was at 2am.

Anyway. the line is still crazy long. I agree that standby is going to still be at least a 90 -120 minute wait. FP+ is going to slow the line right down. I know many people who can't get FP+ for the sisters which means they'll have to do stand by. Even assuming the use of pixie dust helps the line, it still only cuts the line down to 2.5 hours on average (since 5 hours are fairly standard) Since FP+ will have the priority, the wait for standby will be minimum 60 minutes

Where EXACTLY does the line start??

It starts just outside their meet and greet area across from Akershus. People start lining up from 8am (Akershus reservations) and the line gets much busier from 8:40am or so. By 9:10am, it's usually at the 3 to 4 hours+ mark. by 9:15am - 9:20am, its up to 5 hours generally.

If I don't have an Akerhus reservation, do I even bother trying to head over there right at 9? How early do I need to be at EPCOT to be close to one of the first people to enter the park? If I am one of the first through the gates what kind of wait do you think I will have behind all of the Akerhus people?

My friend arrived front park gates at 7:50am, she was one of the first there. By 8:50am, they started letting people into the park. People were running for this, she walked briskly and ended up with an hour and fifteen minute wait. Akershus isn't that big of a restaurant. Yes, people are lining up and some people are making reservations just to line up for Anna and Elsa. But most people are just there for the character meal and won't be rushing to line up.

Thank you! This is just the info I needed. :worship: We are staying offsite so I am thinking of taking a cab over to EPCOT and letting Mom and Sis meet me with the kids so that I'm not making everyone in my party stand around just waiting for the park to open. If I could get an hour and fifteen minute wait time that would be fabulous! :thumbsup2

We used the Akershus strategy last Wednesday. We had an 8:20 reservation, we arrived in Norway at 8:05 and there were already 3-4 families in line, about 6-8 people total. We were let in to the restaurant at 8:25. We asked for our bill as soon as the food came out at 8:35ish, which seemed to boggle our server's mind a bit, but she complied. We shoveled down our food and hightailed it across the courtyard at 8:50. We were probably 25 people back in line, but one family in front of us was a group of 11 who only wanted meets for the kids and 2 adults, who were sisters named Anna and Elsa themselves, which I thought was kinda cool.

About 2 minutes after we got in line people mobbed the area. We did see running adults, but I think only 2 or 3 people from the rope made it back before the first hour line closed, the rest were those of us from Akershus. I think some families inside the restaurant must have realized what was happening and sent people outside to get in line. By 9:30, as we were entering the meet and greet ourselves, one CM remarked to another that the wait was up to 4.5 hours already. We were in and out by 9:35.

My 10 year old, who is going on 25 btw, thought that it was the best moment of her trip, and it re-ignited the desire to meet characters again, and get autographs, something she thought she was "too old" for before we went.

I will say though, I think those actresses are a little over this, if you catch my drift. They smiled, and interacted, but if you kept your eyes on them, you'd see them frown and make little irritated eyes as soon as the little one's faces were turned. I will also say that the Anna in the Festival of Fantasy parade looks and acts more like Anna from the cartoon, but Elsa is better at the meet and greet.

For those desperately searching for an Elsa gown, they apparently re-stock the Elsa dresses every morning in the shop adjacent to the meet and greet. They had two styles, one a little more elaborate than the other, and there were LOTS of them before the meet and greet started.

If you do the Akershus strategy, be sure to pay attention to the adult's faces when they are coming back to Norway and discovering the line for these girls. It is an entertaining way to pass the time. There are lots of dropped jaws and huge eyes. It just goes to show you how many visitors really don't read the Dis, and have absolutely no clue what they are getting into.

So after April 20th they will no longer be at epcot?

That seems to be the plan by Disney. The same day they appear on the MK schedule, they disappear from the Epcot schedule. But, like with anything else at Disney, all of this is subject to change at any time.
