Elsa and Anna meet & greet: how long did you wait in line?

Maybe already asked - sorry if so - just didn't see it....

If you just go into the store - can you "see" them? (I don't mean "meet" them" - Like - can you look over to the side and say - look, there's Anna and Elsa!

Yes

We waited about 20 minutes. I made an early morning reservation at Akershus months and months ago and we were able to eat breakfast, settle the check and get in line within the first handful of people. I felt like Super Mom. ;) The Princesses were great.

My daughter wants to see them and as a dad its my job.

So glad I am a runner as in I am training to do marathons:rotfl2:

Guess I'll wait in line while the family does Soaring.

Can I ask when this was and what time you got in line?

Thanks!

So if I leave the breakfast at 8:30 to get in line that's enough time? I'm trying to beat the crowd that enters the park so I don't wait too long

The gates will open at 8:45 or so. You'll be in line with other Akershus diners.

Make sure you are not there on an EMH morning...onsite resort guests will enter the park @ 8:00 a.m.

To those asking if you can 'see' them without meeting, YES, it was very easy for us (and we had an unexpected surprise). The meet and greet is very open so you can see in and take pictures from outside or the gift shop.

We arrived just as they were finishing for the day...we looked in and snapped some pictures. Then while my daughter was coloring in the gift shop they walked through to leave and Anna came over to my daughter, leaned down and said she liked her dress (an Anna dress) and then the two walked through an exit door. So we got a wait-free meet and greet...lol! It was awesome.

Does the park typically open at 8:45 or can it be sooner than that? I was just wondering as I am in the same spot where I have a Akershus ADR at 8:10, and I'd like to see all of the Princesses there, but if I have to leave around 8:45 I will do that so I can get ahead of the park opening in the Anna and Elsa line.

Anyone know how long it typically takes at Akershus for all of the Princesses to get to your table?

There is a chance that the lines will reduce slightly when Festival of the Fantasy Parade opens. I saw a link that they will be in that parade so right now the only way to really see them is by doing the meet and greet but once people can see them in the parade I think a few people will opt to just see them there rather than waiting in a 3+ hour line.

Granted the lines will still be very long for the meet and greet, just hopefully a little less ridiculously long.

It's typically 8:45/8;50 for park opening. Pay your bill as soon as you get seated and you'll be able to quickly leave when it gets close to 8:45. Some have reported they weren't able to see all of the Princesses by leaving early.

We had an 8:05 breakfast reservation. I think dh and the girls left to get in line just prior to 9 a.m. It was several minutes before the people who had run at rope drop made it there (and I think that was from the entrance at the International Gateway). We saw all the rotating princesses at breakfast. It's literally right across from the entrance to the Princess breakfast.

I don't know why disney. Can't do what macys Santaland does...you go into your own little "house" and everyone gets a different Santa, nobody has to know if it is done well. I think they have eight santas at a time. I can't see why disney couldn't do this, perhaps for each hottest character of the year or years. As long as each group/ family sees the same women the kids in that family shouldn't have anyhting spoiled by seeing different faces in their friends pics....

I also can't tell you HOW much I regret not going in November! If I had known how much my daughter would love them,.....would have skipped animal kingdom

They really do have to come up with something to alleviate these lines. I can't see them doing what you're saying. However, I think adding another meet & greet in one of the other parks, is reasonable. That would really help. They have many of the other princesses in Epcot & MK already, so that shouldn't be an issue.

The popularity of Frozen and Anna & Elsa is not dying down any time soon. In fact, it may even get a little bump with the DVD/Bluray release in 2 weeks. Having 4-5 hour waits all day, every day, is not good for guests, and it is not good for Disney (you're not spending much money while in line). Hopefully, they come up with something in the near future.

I think it just takes a lot of time to get something like that set up and going. And they are hesitant to gear up and do that from the beginning since they don't yet know if a particular character will really take off.

I'm going last week of August and even though crowds are pretty light then, there are still a few long line attractions and I'm thinking this will be 1. I booked a 8am Akershus ADR just in case the lines get long later in the day but does anyone know if they're moving the first meet & greet back to 9am? I wasn't planning on going to Akershus this trip but did a last minute add-on bc my dd started freaking out pleading to meet them when I told her they are there.
