Hello everyone!

Eloping and staying at VWL next week. Any suggestions on things to do other than visit parks and in combo with parks? First time trip ever without my three daughters. Only staying two nights. And he has never been to WDW!

TIA!

:lovestruc Well... between honeymoon type activities ;) and first visit to the WDW :3dglasses, I think are probably going to be wishing you had an extra day or two to when all is said and done. Have a nice trip :)

I'd go to the AKL for dinner at Jiko's for one of those nights. With such a short visit, I'd also pick out my very favorite attractions in each park and try to get my new hubby to them all. Those honeymoon activities can wait until you get home, Disney is most important when in Florida! :lmao:

Geniuses! I love the idea, instead of not throwing away $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ on a wedding related junk! Stay longer!

With three kids running around? You're optimistic, aren't you?

Two days is not enough time to give a newbie more than a taste. And considering you have other distractions on the menu, well it could be a defeatist adventure. I think I'd concentrate of the things that enhanced the romance of the occasion:

Go picnic in front of Crystal Palace and watch the Wishes fireworks with the castle (and crowded hub) in the background. A Photopass guy usually sets up in a little nook between Casey's Corner and CP using the castle lagoon and castle as a backdrop. It is much quieter and more removed from the bustle yards away.

If want to feel like sneaky little kids (and can forego a little sleep), go to a nighttime EMH at MK. In the last 60-90 minutes the place is pretty dead with squeeling adults running onto this ride and that. There's nothing like sauntering onto Dumbo at 1am and seeing the lights of the park spinning all around you.

Make an ADR for a date night dinner. There are a lot of choices for fine dining and dressing up. Grand Floridian has Victoria & Albert's (pricey but nice). The cheaper alternative Narcoose's has a separate building and lagoon-side view. Or head over to Pleasure Island and take in the Adventurer's Club and one of the restaurants in DTD.

Go to an early luau and then take a walk on the Poly beach. We love to watch the EWP and MK fireworks from there. Sunset Point makes a great viewing spot.

Skip FutureWorld and spend the day in the countries instead. Start with Canada and make your way around. You don't have to see all the movies but can just stroll the countries and get a feel for the architecture and culture. (See if it inspires your next non-Disney honeymoon destination.)

Depending on where you stay, enjoy the off-peak hours at the resort for long walks or just sitting in a rocking chair being together. At all resorts that usually includes early morning (6-8am), and some resorts mid-day (12-3pm). Boardwalk gets crowded from lunch time on.

Pick one must-see experience at each park. The rest you treat as impromptu bonuses. That way you're not commando touring or forcing hubby into information overload. There's only one thing you came to do so can just soak up the atmosphere along the way.

Most of all, DON'T TRY TO SHOW HIM EVERYTHING! The biggest mistake we veterans can make with newbies is trying to give them our years worth of experience in a few brief hours. It overwhelms them and frustrates us when we have to repeat ourselves. If you do it right, then he will spark a love of his own and you can spend a lifetime rediscovering and nurturing your loves together.

Thanks everyone!! You guys are hilarious!! :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Yes, I will try not to overload him since I do want him to DVC lover like myself. Will try to do just a few things so that he will want to continue my 2 trips a year with myself and girls.

Thanks again!!
