Ellen is going to Universal

Woooo hooo!!! I got the call from Ellen's "people" and am going to the show. I am soooo excited! :cheer2:

Anyone else get their call? We just moved here so I didn't know who to take. They offered me 4 tickets but I said I only needed 2. I'll be bringing the hubby and wearing my dancing shoes!

I have never been to Universal so am excited to see what it's like as well.

Hope to see some of you there!

Tracy

They may only call local residents that ask for tickets so there would be a greater chance of everyone showing up that requests them. I wish the submission form would have had a place to put comments so we could explain why we wanted tickets, but lived outside Orlando.

I was thinking the same thing. I live in NC but I will be there on the first taping day. I hope they send me tickets. :(

You could be right... Now I feel bad, I should have asked for 4 and gave the other 2 away!!! You do have to show up in person with ID...

Oh no - I hope this is not the case. I have the kennel and hotel booked already! I'm only 3 hours away but I don't think I'm considered a local. Let's hope that all this means is that we should be receiving our calls soon too!

It never occured to me that because I was from out of state we might not get the tickets requested (for that reason). We'll be on vacation that week in Orlando, and we love the show and wanted to see it live. Shucks. I hope they call! Fingers Crossed

We were already there for our trip that week...that's why I requested tickets. Does it say somewhere on the website that you had to be a local to get the tickets???? I don't remember it saying that, but I don't read all the fine print either.

Would they leave a message on my answering machine when I'm not home or do they have to speak to a live person...we NEVER answer those "out of area" phone calls even when we're home, but I guess I can listen to those for a couple days if I have to!

OK, I'm totally frustrated !! Is anyone else trying to enter the contest to win a trip down on the web site posted on page 1 of this thread? I've been trying for a few days whenever I get on line and I'm still getting the "unable to process. . . try again in a few minutes" message !! I've tried on 3 different computers - through both Internet Expl and Foxfire. Anyone getting through or is the site not working? :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Woo-hoo! I got my tickets! A very nice lady from the show and told me that I could have up to 4 tickets for either the 12 or 3pm taping on April 1. I only needed 2 tickets and I chose the 12pm taping! I'm so excited! She said she will be emailing me all the important info soon. Good luck out there - hopefully you all will be hearing soon as well!

I've never seen a published number that the amphitheater can hold, I'd ballpark it at a couple of thousand.

MY guess was way off. I thought around 3000.

The Amphitheater holds 6200 people. Have at it....Hope all that want to see Ellen are able to do so:thumbsup2

*This is for Hollywood not Orlando, sorry!

I got my call Friday afternoon at exactly 3:50 easter time (I know because I debated calling my mom at work to tell her the good news but she gets off at 4 so I waited). I noticed on Ellen's website that you can no longer request tickets to these shows so my guess is that they are calling the people back now and letting them now. I don't know how they select those that get tickets but I had to have been one of the first to request them because the information for tape dates, etc went on her website at at 7:15 eastern time and I requested at 7:30.

Just curious - will there be assigned seats at all? I can only envision mass chaos of 6200 people running to the best seats in the house. Yikes.

It's happening to me as well. I've tried to enter from the link I posted and also from the link on Universal's site with no luck whatsoever. I've tried to enter probably 20 or so times and each time I get the "We are unable to process your request at this time. Please try your request again in a few minutes." Arrrrggggghhh!

If it's taping at citywalk and not inside the park than it should only fit 1,000-2,000 people and not 6,200 at past taping at both Universal and Disney there are not assigned seats. They usally take small groups in at a time to avoid a mess.
I still haven't heard anything on tickets yet i sure hope i get some so i wont have to go stand by. and any word on the guest she will have on that week?

I think I got called at about 2:20 on Thursday. I was also wondering about the assigned seating thing. They did say we'd get an email with all the info.

I know I was one of the first requesters as well as I was watching the site like a hawk waiting for the page to come available. I am a dork!

Oh well, I told the lady on the phone I would have my dancing shoes on and she said make sure they are tightly laced!

Can't wait! Hey if the hubby bails, I will take one of you all!

Tracy

the email should just be where go to on the taping day and also a vocher that gives you free parking that usally what the emails are.
I didn't put my request until that Saturday night hope it wasn't to late, something tells me it was since people already got calls and i didn't this stinks.

1000 seats it is!

The tapings of "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" will take place on the Lagoon Stage, located at Universal CityWalk in the heart of Universal Orlando Resort. The Lagoon Stage is an outdoor, waterfront amphitheatre, seating 1000 people and overlooking the entrances to the Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure theme parks as well as the stunning 30-acre CityWalk dining, shopping and entertainment complex.
