Ellen is going to Universal

won't they probably be doing the taping in citywalk? we took our daughter to the emeril and fear factor tapings there and she was only 11.

I doubt it.. They'll probably do it in the Toon Lagoon stadium since it's vacant. No?

the citywalk amphitheater is usually dead and gives wide open camera angles, plus the seating. just my thoughts.

I will be there both days and have actually requested tickets for both tapings. I am hoping I will get at least one of them. I thought this would be fun for DMIL, DSIL, and me to do together while the rest of the family hits some rides. My DD would love to go but is only 13...the website said you had to be 18, but the picture of the crowd clearly shows a young girl in the audience. Do you suppose they might allow children in some kind of a standby line?
Hi!

I too requested tickets to the April 1st show but in reading the FAQ, you can only request tickets once per season or else all your requests will be thrown out.

Also, you have to be 14 to be a member of the audience according to her LA taping rules.

Sylvester is correct. The filming will be at the Citywalk Amphitheater.

Do you (or anyone) know what time the shows are being taped? I've requested tickets to the April 1st taping. Thanks!

Has anyone heard anything back from the Ellen show? I'd really like to be able to plan our trip, this would significantly change our itinerary.

If no one finds out, I'll check and let you know this evening after 9:00 PM.

Oh no! I only requested both dates because I could go either day, not because I wanted to go both days. I was just trying to show them I could be flexible...darn! I wonder if I could send an email and explain why I sent two submissions and cancel one of them.

Hi! I went back to Ellen's site and re-read it again. Frankly I'm a little confused by it now. I'm not sure if it means you can't request tickets to one particular tape date more than once or you can't request tickets more than once per season. So you still might be okay. I'm in the same boat. I could go Friday or Saturday but I'm scared to put in another request lol! Good luck to you though!

Hmmm that's strange. I entered last night and did not have any problems. Maybe so many people are entering that the server breaks down or something terribly technical like that.

The expected (tentative) taping times are 2 PM on March 31st, and Noon and 3 PM on April 1st.

Taping tickets will be given out at 9:00 AM on the 31st and the 1st at Citywalk Guest Services and inside Universal Studio at the Studio Audience Center. (If you pick up tickets inside US you must have admission tickets to the park.)

Tickets to the taping will be given on first come first serve basis while supplies last.

Each person in line can pick up a maximum of 4 tickets.

For those who got tickets, they will be able to sit in the general admission seating in the center section of the CityWalk Lagoon stage amphitheater.

There will be a stand-by queue for each show for those who want to fill in the non-seated viewing area around the amphitheater.

For guest who do not get into the ampitheaters there will be a a Riff-Raff street party to watch the Ellen show on the Astrovision. They will also be part of the fun and won't be left out.

Thanks for getting back to us! I really wish they let us know soon if we are able to get the tickets! I requested tickets to the April 1st taping so the fact that there are 2 tapings that day is good I think.

I'm not really familiar with the amphitheater - how many people will it hold - both general and day of tickets? I already have the hotel so I'm wondering how good of a chance I'd have to get a ticket just waiting in the line, in case I don't get the other ones.

I've never seen a published number that the amphitheater can hold, I'd ballpark it at a couple of thousand.

OK...maybe I'm dense, but some of this makes no sense to me...
1. If we requested tickets, will we have tickets on hold at the "pick up" and maybe find this out sometime in the near future?

2. If they are "first come, first serve", why did I even request tickets as opposed to just walking up and getting them while in line?

3. Still no age requirement for the seating? I have kids and would like them to join in the audience (they are more likely to dance than me).

4. Am I Riff Raff and don't know it????

There are 3 ways to get tickets:

1) Ellentv.com: request tickets from Ellen's official website
2) NBC Station promotions: Local contests at certain NBC affliates. The NBC affliates who are having contests are Orlando, Tampa, Miaimi, NY, Chicago, Philly, LA, Providence, Columbus, Raeligh, Dallas, San Diego, Hartford, Detroit, and Washington DC.
3) Universal Studios Resorts: Tickets distributed at US and Citywalk, first come first serve.

I listed only what was available from Universal Studios. It is just a seperate option than what you are trying to get from the Ellen website.
