According to US weekly magazine, 78-year old Elizabeth Taylor is engaged to 49-year-old talent manager Jason Winters. A source tells the magazine that "it's no secret that they have been together forever, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they were engaged. Right now they are keeping it between them." The legendary Hollywood actress told columnist Liz Smith in 2007 that Winters was "one of the most wonderful men she has ever known and that's why I love him." A representative for Taylor told Access Hollywood that they do not respond to queries regarding her relationship status, "but it is well known and documented that they have been together for some time."

I know what you mean, but people get married for different reasons. Here's my theory: she doesn't want to be alone and he's a good companion. She won't have sex unless she's married, so she needs to marry him before he can move into her bedroom. He can use the extra money, glamour, attention and other benefits being Mr. Elizabeth Taylor. So it works for both of them!

Well, in most cases, 78 is "almost there", if you know what I mean, and I'll mourn the loss of one of the few Hollywood legends left when she goes.

Oh me, too. There aren't too many of them left. Elizabeth Taylor has just seemed old to me for the past couple of decades. I'd have guessed that she was at least 80 by now and probably a little older than that.

On the other hand, Regis Philbin (who I will also miss when he goes) is right around her age. He seems much younger than 80 to me.
