I am still looking for a fun way to surprise our kids with our Disney trip (leave December 10). We have an Elf on the Shelf who visits us starting December 1st each year. Thinking of getting "Happy" to help us leave clues for the kids.

I would like the clues to start really subtly, and get more obvious the closer we get. We would like to tell the kids by December 6-7, only because they need to make some arrangements at school for assignments.

I need help with ideas! here are a few I came up with -

  • Have the elf hide behind one of our Disney-themed ornaments
  • Draw mickey ears on a photograph with dry erase marker
  • Star Wars lightsaber battle

Any other good ones? Again - trying to go with subtle up until the very end. I am hoping the kids just see mischief and then put Disney together at the very end.

Reading a Disney book, watching a Disney movie, listening to Disney songs. Playing with princess dolls or plush Mickey. Playing with a Disney board/card game or puzzle (you can get these at the Dollar Tree). Hanging out with Disney Infinity figures.

Pulling Disney shirts off their hangers, drawing Mickey or the castle, pin-trading with stuffed animals. Cute idea, have fun!

The Elf on the Shelf is such an amazing way to release the secret! I love the idea of the elf reading a Disney book watching a Disney movie. So cute!

We did this on our last trip! She came with and was a stinker on our trip, too! ours was simple and to the point :cool1: HUGE success!
