We had hoped to spend a month in Orlando, but hubby can't get more than 2 weeks off work. So then we decided we would go to disneyland for our third visit (travelling from Australia).

But hubby has just come home and said lets make the best of the time we have and go to disney world. Factoring in travel time and resting the first day we will have 11 full days at disney world. We don't like travelling without a plan, so I was hoping that someone would advise me on how many days I should allocate for each park. My kids are age 14, 12 and 11.

When we go, we usually have 10 days in the parks. The way we split them up is 2.5 days for each EPCOT and Magic Kingdom and 1.5 days for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. The other 2 days we do Downtown Disney for both, or for 1 and add a water park. We take advantage of the EMH, usually only the PM ones.

Hope this helps,

2.5 Magic Kingdom
2.5 Epcot
2 AK
2 DHS
and 2 Spaced Out Rest/Resort/DTD Days

Is what I would recommend!

I would say 2 days each for the Magic Kingdom and Epcot, 1 day for each of the water parks, and 1.5 days each for Hollywood Studios and Animal Kingdom. That would be 9 days, so it would leave you two days for Downtown Disney or hanging out at the pool at your resort. It's always nice to have some time to rest in the middle of your trip. :)

Also, for our family, water park days have always been shorter days. We get there around 9 and leave around 3 or 4. We go back to our resort to shower and rest for a little while and then do our signature restraunt dinners on those nights.

Hope you have a great time!!

We were there 11 days our last visit.
My kids were 4,7, and 9 then and we did this....
MK- 3 days (One being MVMCP)
EP- 3 days
AK- 1 day (sorry I can't seem to figure out why you would go more than one day)
HS- 2 days (but we ended up leaving after lunch our second day. We were done)
Relax and DTD- 2 days

We are relative newbies compared to others (we have been once and going again next week) but I think this is a good way to plan it:

- Make sure each morning is well planned (with as much precision as you guys are comfortable with) - you will find that assuming you are there at rope drop, by midday you will get most rides done in a park
- decide which parades/evening shows/dinner places you want to go
- For afternoons and evenings, play it by ear (parks, waterparks, pool etc..)- just make sure you are in the right place for parades/evening shows/dinner places

Assumign you are not going at busiest time of year, I think this gives a good blend of making sure you see/do most things with minimal queuing and also going with the flow.

We used Ridemax last time to plan m,ornongs and it worked great.

Also, i wouldnt plan all 10 days - just plan the first 7 - the last 3 you will be able to figure out for yourself once your are there.

I agree with this! We love to take a down day in the middle of our 8 day trips to sleep in, hang around the pool while I do some laundry (so we don't have to pack as much) & then head to DTD for some shopping. It allows us to recharge a little during an otherwise completely action-packed trip.

We normally stay 12 full days at WDW each visit, and what we've found works for us is to divide the vacation into two halves. In each half, we make sure we visit each park once. And then we add a day to each for park hopping, revisiting a favorite park, and/or going to a water park. That eats up 10 days. The remaining two we spend most of the time relaxing at our resort, but may pop over to MK after dinner and stay until close on one of those days if we feel up to it.

So, our vacation might look like this (not including travel days):

Mon: Epcot
Tue: MK
Wed: Park Hopping/Water Park
Thu: DHS
Fri: AK
Sat: Relax, and maybe go to MK after dinner
Sun: Relax
Mon: Epcot
Tue: MK
Wed: Park hopping/Water park
Thu: DHS
Fri: AK

(Just as an example.)

Have a wonderful time!

I am going to be the dissenter here and say with kids that age and 11 full days, I would do Disneyworld AND Universal. Your kids are a great age for Universal. I would do:

2 days MK
2 days Epcot
1 day DHS
1 day AK
1 day Universal park
1 day Univeral Islands of Adventure

The other days you can just see what the kids like and want to go back to or whether they would like to spend time at the resort or somewhere else. I would actually spend 1 day in each of the 6 above listed parks first, and then change the schedule up depending on which ones the kids liked best and want to go to again.

I would say spend 2 days in each park, then see which ones the kids like the best,(If you have already been to WDW, then they should already know) and spned the rest of the time revisiting parks to see your favorite atractions. My family like to take a rest day somewhere in the middle of a long Disney World vacation . The kids can play in the pool,(I'm pretty sure every Disney hotel has 1)and the adults can rest so they recharge. Also, make sure to see the night time shows like Fantasmic in Hollywood Studios and the Wishes fireworks show in Magic Kingdom. If it's going to be warm while your there, make sure to spend a day at at least 1 of Disney's 2 water parks.
