This may sound like a silly question, but...are the handicap rooms (like the ones with roll-in-showers and such) near the elevators at say the Boardwalk or Wilderness Lodge (or any of the hotels in Disney for that matter)?
I'm nervous about our upcoming trip to the Boardwalk. It'll be our 2nd time staying there. The first time we were talked out of a handicap room (by a DVC CM) when I called to make our reservation. She said she was handicapped and in a WC and she always gets a one-bedroom non-handicap room because it has alot of room and she requests a transfer bench for the bathroom. DH & I said ok. DH is an AK amputee. She said she'd request that we be near the elevator. We were good with that. Well, when we checked in, we were also told we were "right near the elevator". We were the very last room near the Swan! Guess they meant we'd be near their elevators (and not Boardwalk's!) We weren't happy about it but we put up with it.
This time I requested a handicap room with a standard view. I'm hoping it won't be a hike to the elevator! I don't mind the walk, but DH can't walk it.
So I was just wondering if handicap rooms were close to the elevators.
Thanks!!
