How many elevator locations are there, and where are they? We've requested a Preferred Boardwalk view and understand that getting that request is iffy, but does requesting "near an elevator" eliminate the possibility of getting a BW view? (Do you know what I mean?)

hi: i can't really help you out on the boardwalk view question, although i think some would not be too far from the elevators. there is one bank of two elevators to serve the villas side. our preferred views have been of the luna park pool, the quiet pool, and the canal. we usually try for the standard views if possible.

I 'think' there are 3 elevators in that bank of elevators. I seem to remember having a choice of 2 sets of buttons to push. Since they are between the doors, that would mean 3 sets of doors.

Back to the point, the 'Boardwalk' views closest to the elevators have views over the 'Village Green' and then the Boardwalk. If I remember correctly, those are studio units. I don't know what kind of distance the room controllers consider to be 'close to the elevators'.

As to the location of the (only) elevator bank, look on p. 86 in your new Member guide book. You'll see the 'orange' lobby. Picture walking straight from the center of the lobby into the 'pinkish' villa side (ignore the thin orange 'leg' along the villas). That is where the elevators are.

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm having a 'senior moment' a few years early.

There are 3 elavators at BWV. Some people like to request a room right next to the elavators or by the elevators. The reason for this is because the elvators are located in the middle of the 2 resorts (BWV on one side and BWI) on the other. Thus some rooms are located quite a distance from the elevators. That being the case some (maybe most people) feel that the want to make a room request "to be by the elevators". I though always request to be far away from the elevators. But thats me.

Thanks for the info. :)

My daughter was diagnosed a few days ago with a bone inflammation disease, so I'd like to cut down on the distance our accomodations are from the elevators. We had always stayed at the Beach Club on previous trips, far from the elevators, so we know about walking distances! :)

If you tell Member Services about your request as it pertains to a medical condition, you will most likely have it honored.

My youngest DD has a very rare heart condition, and when she was diagnosed at age 12, there was a period of about a year when she needed to use a wheelchair in the parks. She was mobile enough to walk some, but certainly not any distance.

During our stay at BWV at that time, we put in the request and had the second room down from the elevators. I must say, however, compared to the rooms we have had much further down the hall, the one near the elevator was quite noisy. In the evenings after the parks closed, there was a continual stream of noise as families returned from the parks and traveled past our room. It is a trade off, and certainly if you need the location I would not let the noise stop me.

Thanks for the info, Carol. I guess it's a tradeoff. We'll have to see how she's feeling as the date approaches. :)

Being near the elevator will eliminate most Boardwalk views. There are some rooms near the elevator that look out over the "courtyard" Boardwalk area and are quite nice.
