We are looking at doing either at Cat 2 or the mid-ship Cat 3 (8532, 8032 etc.). The Cat 2's are located adjacent to the forward elevator lobby and the Cat 3's are adjacent to the mid-ship elevator lobby.

Was just curious if there is much noise from the elevators, people congregating in the lobby waiting, etc.? We will have a small child with us that will need his naps and wanted to know about any possible disruptions.

Thanks

Never any noise from the hallways...at least not in those rooms. If you put the little one down for a nap in the bedroom(s)....you won't hear any noise. Guaranteed.
The rooms are pretty well sound-proof, unless someone actually bangs into your door, or rings the doorbell. Not a loud doorbell, either, though.
Early in the morning, you will hear the chairs being moved overhead. We heard them the first morning, woke up and said "What was that?" After we figured out what it was, we went back to sleep. And now, 3 cruises later, the chair noise doesn't wake us at all anymore.

I'm not too sure how similar the ships are, but we just sailed on the Magic in 8532. I could hear the elevator when we were in the bedroom. It really wasn't that loud and it didn't bother me at all. It basically sounded like someone was rolling a cart nearby. Other than that, I never heard any hallway noise. Those staterooms come with CD players in the living room entertainment center and we used ours constantly. You could always bring along some soothing music that would easily mask any outside noise.

We have been in 8532 on the Wonder and 8032 on the Magic and never heard any noise from the elevator. My wife is a very light sleeper and this was never a problem. Occasionaly we would hear noise in the hallway but this was mostly when we were in the living room.

The only real problem noise was from above on deck 9. In the evening you could hear a lot of running around, especially when there was a deck party. This noise usually diminished by 11:00 to 11:30 as the parties ended.

We were on deck 2 on Wonder, right next to the mid-ship elevator and never heard a thing! It was a great location! :D

You will hear some noises from the ships crew as they move things around. usually just before and just after dinner. Just tire yourself out doing all things Mickey during the day and evening, and you'll be fine.
