ELEVATE! Is that a whale out there? A three-generation cruise to Alaska!UPDATE 8/29

Hey, just wondering if you decided to go and do your June 2013 trip to WDW? I am reading your little Pre-TRP and saw you were thinking about it. Just wondering if you decided to do it. :confused3 I live in MD now *BLAH! I cannot WAIT to move back to Alaska in 5 years and open my B&B*

If you still want weather help and whatnot I can say this June is okay *my cousin lives in FL* and its not SO super humid. I mean, its humid. But not like it is in July and August. August is death almost.

Also, you are VERY brave with the whole tiny bead in Willow's ear. I only have fur-babies and I freak out if something happens to them and I have to take them in. I don't think I could handle a real child!

I definitely have a 2013 trip in the works, and I plan to start a PTR as soon as I wrap up this TR. I am going to need lots of help deciding on what to do - this will be a bigger, longer, greater trip for us, so DIS advice will be needed! I hope you will join in! Clue - "August is death" does not bode well for us..... :rotfl2:

I didn't know you were from Alaska. Where do you plan to move back to exactly? We might have to check out your B&B! ;)

You know, it's funny. I had a VERY long road to parenthood and had a beast who was my whole world through the many painful ups and downs. I am much better at handling issues with my child than I was with my beast, so don't count yourself out! There is something that takes over your insecurities and ability to freak out when you become a parent to a child, I think. :confused3

Most months that are not Fall or Winter are Death for me because I don't handle humidity very well. I have asthma.

I will help as much as I can! I am a SUPER FAN of Disney. I worked for them when I was 18 and would love to work for them now but they sadly will not hire me. I have a few tattoos that can be seen. But that doesn't make me hate them! I'm excited to see your countdown calander for Willow! Those are fun! I want to make one for me now!

Yes, I am from Alaska! I'll be moving back in 5 years, I take care of my mom and she retires then. We'll both move back and she'll help me run the B&B and I'll do Cooking Classes for Locals and those who are staying as well! Its going to be in Anchorage or Wasilla...not sure yet. And it will be called Bad Wolf Bed and Breakfast! :yay: And each room will have a season theme *i.e. Winter/Spring etc*

So yeah, enough of my jibber jabbering! I can't wait to read more!! And I'll be doing my own Pre-Trip Report for my Hawaii Crusie and TR for it. When's a good time to start it? We're at 64 days and counting now!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Oh, I totally understand about asthma. I have a lung disease (supposed to be fatal but I am still here thanks to experimental radiation treatment) that was misdiagnosed as asthma for about 10 years. I lived in Miami for a year - never had a longer hospitalization than there. So Florida in August scares me, but I plan to POWER THROUGH. :confused3

That is cool that you worked for Disney before. What was your job?

There will definitely be another countdown calendar, although part of the trip will be a surprise. I really hope it all comes together!

Love your B&B idea. I hope we get to visit it someday!

You should start your PTR RIGHT NOW! And I cannot wait for your TR - I totally want to do that cruise one day, so I cannot wait to read about it. As you know, I LOVE sea days! I am inclined to turn most port days into sea days to be honest. Go ahead and post your link to your PTR here if you want, so we can follow along! :cool1:

Oh! Sorry about your lung disease! I mean sorry's not the best thing to say, but you know what I mean. Its never easy to have strange diseases! I got tuberculosis in Alaska so I totally understand the weird-ness. I'm very glad it hasn't gotten you down!

You HAVE to power through it! Its Disney! And Disney is the bees-knees!!!! :woohoo:

I just worked as a Cast member in one of the stores in Alaska. It was awesome!! I loved it so much and then they sadly closed it down.

Alrighty then! I will start me Pre-TR now! I'm awake and I'll begin working on it! Hazaa!! Yes, Sea days are the BEST!!!! We're considering actually staying on the boat one day at port so we can get massages at a lesser price and just hang out on the boat with less people. If we ever did the European Cruise I would probably stay on the boat every day! pixiedust:

What doesn't actually kill us definitely makes us stronger! :thumbsup2 And I am thankful for every moment now and soooo thankful to have been able to be cleared to be a parent to my awesome DD! :lovestruc

Excited for your PTR! :cool1: I am dying to hear about the Hawaii cruise! There are 3 BIG cruises that I really want to do - booked one of them onboard the Wonder, but will we keep that cruise or trade it in? The intrigue is too much, isn't it??? :rotfl2: Anyway,, seriously cannot wait to hear about the Hawaii cruise - I'm not kidding when I say that the idea of all those sea days makes me positively giddy. :cool1: I can't believe how soon it is! Which is awesome, because I am very impatient, and I will be waiting, tapping my foot and looking at my watch, until you get back and start your actual TR! :rotfl2:

YAY for good moms!!!! :cool1: And Willow seems awesome and amazing! :cheer2:

Just started working on it! I can't wait to come back and do a TR report as well! For the longest time I searched High and Low for info on the Hawaiian Cruise. I want to make sure people know exactly how it is! :woohoo:

OHHHH! Can't wait to find out what your next Cruise will be!!!! Any hints for us to guess maybe?

Seriously, there is very limited information on the Hawaii and re-positioning cruises, and, to me, those are the most appealing cruises DCL offers. So having you doing a full TR will be FABULOUS. Now you have to remember to take pics of EVERYTHING and report on EVERYTHING! :rotfl2:

Hmm, well, I definitely booked a cruise while onboard that we definitely want to do. (Of course, how can you not book onboard with the discounts they offer?????) But the big question is whether we keep that one or trade it in. :rolleyes1 That may have to wait for the PTR, which will be coming soon, because I really do plan to get this TR wrapped up before too long - I want to start PLANNING the next one! :rotfl2:

Oh yes, MANY pictures will be taken. My mom and I will both be running around with Camera's! And we BOTH will be doing journals!!!:woohoo:

Can't wait for your next PTR!!!!

Hazaa! Here goes my first Pre-TR!!!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=45786480#post45786480

But I still want more of yours!!! :lmao:
:woohoo: I will run right over to check it out! I am so excited to hear about your plans and SO looking forward to your TR, which is coming up so soon!!! :cool1:

:cool1: Tons of pictures = FABULOUS!!! I think it is so helpful to everyone to hear about all the different things there are to do onboard. I feel like I have really failed in that - we didn't take advantage of nearly enough. And yet, we had an incredible time! :confused3  I love DCL - I am close to thinking I might prefer it to park time! :scared1:

Do you know how to get rid of those bits at the end of the link? I couldn't figure it out! :confused3

We prefer the ships to the Parks now. Because its so amazing and wonderful and if you don't feel like doing anything you still feel like you're getting your money's worth!

Don't worry about your TR! Its awesome!!! You've given out a lot of very good information I think! And its fun to read which is awesome!!! :yay:

I will be putting in as MUCH as I can...probably an overload! I hope not though!

Well, I didn't think there was anything better than WDW or DLR for me and DD, but OMG I loved the cruise. Probably because, selfishly, I actually got a break from time to time, which I don't get in regular life at all. :confused3

We will still love the parks though - they are so special for us because it is the one time that we both just let go of all the stress and regiment of our everyday lives and have a total fast-paced fun time together. I, however, will totally be planning for cruises as often as possible to offset the toll of those park visits! :rotfl2:

Thank you - I have loved writing my two TRs, and I hope that, even if they are not the most informative, at least they are occasionally fun! :thumbsup2

There is no such thing as overload in a TR - post everything you see and learn to the extent you can and still enjoy your vacation. People will LOVE it!

Yes! I'm sure you loved having the time off. Even when its just my mom and I, and I'm older we still spend a bit of time doing our own thing. And since our next one is two weeks she'll do a few things and I'll do some different things and then we can both report on it. Or I can report for her! :thumbsup2

I already have another PTR ready to post but I feel like it would be to soon! :rotfl: So I'll do it tomorrow.

It will be great to get two different perspectives from you and your mom! :woohoo:

 PTRs are hard because it is so easy to run out of things to talk about. Hmm, well, that very well may just be my experience. I can imagine talking about our upcoming trip forever because of all the advice I am going to need, so I am going to say it can vary wildly. :rotfl2:

We have been doing the countdown calendar since our first trip, so we will definitely keep that up. It is so fun!!!! :cool1:

Our various plans will be revealed soon. :rolleyes1 And, who knows, with input from all of you, our plans could still change!

All caught up!! Still loving the Alaska pics. Bill sat with me this morning while looking at them. He said he didn't see any bears at all when they were there. Glad you got a glimpse of one:thumbsup2 The train ride looked great! How long did it actually last?? Just curious, do you remember if they had fishing excursions?? Not that you would actually be looking for that  Bill was wondering. He said that salmon fishing would be a must-do for him and Stephen.

The Animators Palate looks different than the one on the Dream. Yours looks a bit more formal....ours was much more casual. I kinda like yours better. Did they have Crush come out on the screens and talk to people?

And how cool to meet up with another Dis person!! Funny she recognized you!

Hey Heather!

The train ride was several hours total, I believe. And there are definitely a number of fishing excursions available. :thumbsup2

Crush was newly added to AP for the Dream. (I'm guessing he must be on the Fantasy as well. :confused3)

Hey.. we are in this pictures.. I wonder if I would ever see ourselves in someone else pictures. We are sitting at the table behind your daughter up against the wall. DH is in blue. :wave2:

And Doulson suckered me into buying this light-up Ariel.

Lol.. I think they get a special bonus for getting us to buy these. I can't tell you how many Tinkerbells, Ariels and Buzzlightyears light ups we have from previous cruise. :sad2:
