electric Wheelchair question

My brother has muscular dystrophy and cannot walk. This is actually going to be a very hard trip for him because he used to go every year up to age 11 when he could walk. Now that he cannot walk or stand it will be very hard for him to pass up some of the things he used to love.

His 2 favorite rides were Min in black and Spiderman. Do either one of these
have electric wheelchair access like a special car or something? If not how about a manual wheelchair? It would be hard since he is 200 pounds of dead weight but we would just need all 4 of us to lift him.

Anyone go on these rides in wheelchairs??

I believe both rides are wheelchair accessible so he shouldn't have any problems riding either one.

MiB has a car that is wheelchair accesible. It isn't for ECV's though so he would need to transfer to a wheelchair which they have available at the ride. I don't know the answer about Spiderman. I've never personally seen a wheelchair car on Spiderman. I would download the Rider's Guide listed on this page before you go: http://www.universalorlando.com/pi_gs_ada.html

We inquired about wheelchair access and were told that all queues are handicap accessible.

MIB is accessible for guests using a standard manual wheelchair, but not a powered chair. The ride had a wheelchair carriage which slots into the ride vehicle after the wheelchair has been clamped down. Not all ride staff are familiar with this procedure so be prepared to argue as some will tell you (even after you have queued for 2 hours, but maybe that is what they mean about accessible queues) that wheelchairs cannot be accommodated. This is my DS's favourite ride and he has ridden in his manual chair many times.

Spiderman unfortunately has no accommodations for wheelchair users who are unable to transfer from their wheelchair to the ride vehicle or to sit unaided. :sad2:

That is great - can someone still sit next to him or is it single. I am just not sure about the spinning part if he would start falling or slipping.

There is one seat empty next to where he would sit ;)
