Where's the best place to sit? I usually go by the entrace but I feel like I'm waiting forever to see the parade. I heard that you can sit somewhere by the pier on benchs. Does anybody know? Thank you!!

Sit over near Jumpin' Jellyfish. Lots of benches and it's right where it comes out. I watched it from across from JJ and it was great.

Then once it's done, you can go out past Grizzly and around Soarin', and you can actually be out of the gates and on your way back to DL or your hotel or DTD or wherever, before the parade even gets to Sunshine Plaza. :)

Yep, what she said. I actually prefer to sit right by Golden Dreams to I just turn around and exit through that back way out of the park.

Awesome! Thanks for the great advice. I hate battling my way out of the gate!

If the parade starts at 8:45 and I sit where you guys are suggesting....what time in advance should I get there? THanks!

I second the Golden Dreams vote. I sat there last time and was able to sneak right out of the park with no crowds.

I only have late January as experience, but you could have walked up next to me 2 minutes before the parade started and you would have had a space. Bench space, no, but standing space with no one elbowing you, yes.

I think that, just like standing over near the bathrooms between Matterhorn and Alice ride in DL for the parade, no one *thinks* to go to the beginning of the parade route. (OK the DL parade is always more crowded, but relative to Main Street it's been easy-street when I've gone there)

That's where we sat too, great place to see it, and we beat the parade out in time to get a great spot for Fireworks! :)

When I go in July, I usually grab a late to-go type dinner (like a huge corn dog from Corn Dog Castle) and grab a bench about 45 min to an hour before the parade starts. Then I can enjoy the evening and people watch as I eat my yummy dinner and save my spot.

There's an exit by Golden Dreams? Where does it take you? By the Paradise Pier Hotel?

No, not an actual exit, I mean I take the back trail through GRR area in order to exit the park as Bumbershoot mentioned in her previous post.

FYI - the GCH entrance/exit to DCA closes early - we just squeezed through after the electric parade. We also sat near the beginning of the parade route on a bench across from Corn Dog Castle. We got there about 30 minutes before the start and this was during a busy period in early June.

I saw the parade on Tuesday, June 10th. We were sitting directly across from the Golden Dreams building.

It is a bit tough to see in this photo, but there were more people standing on the Golden Dreams side than the lagoon side of the parade route. There were open spots right next to us.
