Has anyone else had trouble with battery powered kids toys they bought at DL?
All of ours broke within a couple of weeks and now the kids are sad. I was just wondering if we had horrible luck or if their stuff is crap.

We've not ever had trouble with the battery powered stuff. My kids have had a range of souveniers over the years and they've always lasted.

I'm curious what other people will say.

our bubble shooter thingy is pretty much dead, and it's only a few weeks old. luckily, my son's only 2.5 so he's forgotten to keep asking for it.

I'd say it's most likely crap made in China! Not that we haven't also purchased some of it ourselves before. :lmao:

Within minutes of opening the bubble shooter and finishing off the bottle of bubbles, the residual bubbles seeped into the battery compartment of ours the other day. :(

However, we do have a couple of light spinners and a Stitch spinner thingy that we've had for 2-3 years each, and Mason plays with often.

Bubble shooter? :confused3

The light spinners and LED keychain lightsabers have all survived , some since '07. The least expensive Hasbro lightsabers, and even the Mickey themed light-up, makes-sound blue lightsaber has survived, though DH really needs to screw the battery door on (Disney doesn't seem to believe in doing that, they don't even provide a screw!) to stop that door from coming off.

The cheapie "light saber" SIL bought DS from a cart with a bunch of other non-Disney-branded stuff broke pretty quickly. Of course, she and DS were having Epic Battles with them (at home, not at the parks), really smacking the sabers against each other, so that might be why. :)

One of the things was the bubble shooter. I guess I should be glad that it lasted 3 weeks. It wasn't Disney brand, but we did buy it at the park.

I'll have to check the other things to see if they are Disney brand, I thought they were. One is a pistol type, um, flashlight thing that projects a skull and cross bones. Sorry, hard to describe. We bought it at that store just after you get off Pirates of the Carribean.

We had problems with the battery compartment on the light spinner too. I thought we had lost the screw. What were they thinking not putting a screw in? It's obviously made for one to go there.

Oh, the bubble shooter is shaped like a gun. It has flashing blue-ish sort of lights (fun not annoying) and when you pull the trigger bubbles blow, or shoot, out of the front. It's great for night time.

It was a cool toy and the kids all liked it so now they are put out and keep asking us to fix it, which we can't.

For those of you that have had problems with toys you bought in the Park, have you called and asked for an exchange? Curious....

Actually you reminded me that that broke. And the two times we've been back, all they've had was pink muskets, not the green DS got, so it's not a good substitute. The trigger seems to have broken, which reduces the fun, though the light still goes on.

Since it's only been 3 weeks, you can probably call the merchandise phone number on your store receipts, and see what they can do for you! I always meant to do that, but it's been about a year, or at least 6 months, by now...

We actually bought them both in November when we went, and I have no idea where the reciepts are, stupid I know :headache: We saved the bubble blower and gave it as a Christmas gift for my DS.

DH wants to try to return them, but without the reciepts and since the one broke a while back I don't really want to waste the postage trying. Maybe I'll call, but it sounds like even if they replace them the new ones will break.

And our light shooter pistol thing is totally broken, no light, no sound, nothing. Why do they have pink ones? My DD9 has little to no interest in it but both my sons liked it. Green is a neutral color, but I don't think I'd be buying my son a pink one.

My kids have light spinners (Tink and Buzz) that I bought for them in 2002. They still work, when they have batteries in them!
