Election Day Travel

Has anyone ever traveled to WDW around the time of an election day like the one this November? If so have you noticed WDW to be more crowded than usual during this time? We plan to be back for election day, but be at WDW the weekend before. Is it generally slow the first weekend in November?

I woulnd't think the election would have much impact, if that's what you are referring to.

This election isn't a presidential election and most people dont think of that (I wouldnt think) when planning far ahead for a trip.

I'd say you wont have much of a crowd, just by the season alone.

What is Jersey week??? I went over Election Day in '05. I thought the crowds were pretty low. We didn't wait long for most things, only a few. It was great because I am a teacher and had Election Day and Veteran's Day fall in the same week. DBF had been gone for months for military so when he came back he took me to Disney. As a teacher I don't normally take trips during the year, but I only missed 3 days!!! Now he wants me to take a trip every year at that time! Crazy boy!

Jersey Week is in November during the annual teachers convention. The actual convention is in Atlantic City, NJ, but since the kids will only miss 2 days of school that week many people take vacation at this time. This year the convention is 11/9 thru 11/12 so it should not effect election day.

And besides, most of us "Jersey People" are pretty nice

7th is election day. Aren't the schools closed that day (Tues) as well as Thurs & Fri?

If so, I thought Jersey week would be considered Sat-Sat 11/4 - 11/11 no?

Yes, I'm from Jersey but my boys are in catholic school so not 100% familiar with public school schedule.

You're right, silly me, I was tired when I posted last night. Due to Election Day in addition to NJ Teacher conv. the kids will only have 2 days of school, not miss a total of 2 days. Sorry for the confusion.

Most NJ folks will be there from 11/4 till 11/11 or 11/12.
