When is this place open? I know it's seasonal but we've been to WDW in Jan, May, Sept, and Dec and have never been able to catch it open. Is it open only during the summer? For those who have been able to catch it open, how is the food?

In the last 5 years we have gone in Sept, Dec, Jan, May (and Oct 2001, but that was an exceptional time for travel) and have not seen that CS open. I'd like to try it sometime, but I'm not willing to endure massive crowds just to try it!

In the last 5x to WDW, we have only seen it open once.

We had lunch there in Feb of '04. It was better than average CS food (mexican). We have been back a few times since then and it has never been open again. Maybe, with the increased interest in POTC the powers that be will open it more often.

In all my 9 trips I cant remember ever seeing it open..My DS would love to try it but I just cant see giving up my precious Pecos Bills..lol

Since 2003 we have never seen it open they did do some kind of test run as a barbecue place i believe last year.

Last trip I really wanted a taco as DBF had a turkey leg, we walked all the way over there and they were closed. I was so upset. I remember it being open in the past when I was there in the summer, but in May when we were just there it was closed!

We ate there last month. It was only open very limited hours, from 11am-3pm for lunch. They changed the format a bit as you now add your own toppings to the tacos and taco salads, similar to the topping bars at Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's. Here are some pics of what we ate.

Naked tacos, taco salad, and empanada with black beans and rice. This is how they hand you the food. Doesn't it look appetizing?

Dressed tacos and taco salad. They look much better now and you can add as much of the toppings as you like.

I ate luch there on 7/12/06. I also had the tacos and liked the fact that I could "dress" them myself. I wish they had a chicken option.

Oh, even those naked tacos look good to me right now! I actually like that they give them that way.. I like the option of adding what I like, as much as I like. I hope it's open this trip!!

Over the course of the 20 years I've been going to Disney it has been open each time we've been. I guess we've just been lucky! We've gone in February, March, April, October/November. It has always said that it was open seasonally, but it sounds like lately it is open rarely. We haven't been to Disney in quite a few years now, but are going in November. I guess I won't hold out too much hope . . . .

MMMM...those looked tasty to me! Maybe they will be open during the free dining period. It sounds like WDW is trying to increase their hours at some of the eateries to try and make extra options for the free diners.

I always check the times guide for MK, it tells whether it is open and what the hours are. Invariably, everytime I'm there, it's not open!
