El Guitar (updated with new vid by DarkwingDuck)

haha, im far from ready to play in front of a group... but then again, its my fault haha.... i know a lot of parts from a lot of songs, but not so much an actual full song XD .. id just take time to learn parts that sound good lol.. and mostly, i play theme songs.. not actual band songs haha

yea but eventually u gotta learn the not soo cool sounding parts my names brandon btw

haha cool, im Jake ..

and yea, i know lol.. my sisters trying real hard to get me to play a full song so i can play with her band sometime.. i can ALMOST do it lol... i can actually play the entire song of Emergency by paramore now... but im just reluctant to record it now because i need distortion pedal for it to sound any decent.. the overdrive-gain on my amp just doesnt do it

yea i would love to have anything even resambleing a sound system all i have is a very tiny protable amp and :yay: for a whole song i mostly play worship stuff on my giutar but im trying to learn some other songs

Hey guys,

As many of you may or may not know, Im currently teaching myself how to play the guitar... Im a noob and have no formal training at all haha, so you can expect me to suck pretty badly... anyway, i thought that since i have no one to show me how to play the "correct" way, id get help through a different method: YOU GUYS!! .... sooo i will be posting my videos in this thread, and i hope that you guys give some criticism.. tell me what i could work on.. what i could change... what would make me improve basically... sooo dont be afraid to criticize

Under the Apple Tree Acoustic Cover (5/30/08):

For this one, i really just wanted to try to put a song together.. merging some rhythm with some lead... and as youll see, my lead skills are terrible compared to my rhythm .. my timing seems to be off but i cant figure out what i could do to fix that -_- .. but it was a fun song to play

edit: theres more guitarist here than i thought there were :cool1: ... sooo everyone.. post your videos!!

nice. I taught myself how to play drums about 4 years ago, and now I'm pretty good. I taught myself guitar for a little while, just to learn a couple songs for my band.

*bump* i like this thread soo i just thought of something to say does anyone play giutar in front of like a group cause i play with my worship group on sundays its just about 25 people or so but its still a crowd anyone else play in front of acrowd or with a band?

I think thats so cool you play in your church worship band.. I do too! Our church is a bit bigger, I think there are normally between 150-200 people. I also don't play guitar, I sing, and play my instruments- flute/violin and once in a while piccolo too when it fits the song. And I'm definitely going to put your siggy stuff in mine!

Anyway, I think you sound pretty good!!

Although I don't play any guitar at all, I hope to get one sometime in the nearish future and start teaching myself.. I already play flute/piccolo, and violin (although I am quitting lessons for violin to focus on flute/piccolo now. Its just too hard to be in both band and orchestra) And I'm starting piano soon.. with all those I don't know how soon I'll be able to start guitar! I just wanted to add that I plan to be a music therapy major in college in 2 years so there is a point to all this music stuff I do, lol!

Keep on practicing! I really do think you sound great!

ive been playin guitar for almost 4 years.

i play at parties and at campfires or whatever.

and i always learn full songs. haha.

its not bragging if its fact.

FACT: im pretty darn good at guitar. haha.

ill get a new vdeo up soon.

darkwing: nice dude! would you happen to have any recordings of your band? id love to hear it

arabians: wow! you have quite the musical resume haha.. your going to beast in college... much props to ya! and thanks for the compliment and encouragement! im definitely going to keep at this... its way to fun to stop lol.. and feel free to post yourself playing a song in here! all musicians are welcome in this thread.. not just guitarists :)

brandon: haha, same man.. im a chord man myself... lead is hard mainly because you have to get the timing and beat perfect for it to sound good

imagineer: damn, 4 years? you animal! haha, still looking forward the new song

hey imagineer, im looking into getting a distortion pedal... do you have any recommendations?

ive been gone two days and the thread is on the 2nd page unacceptable tsik tisk tisk *bump* *bump*:)

yea i do. get a digitech like this one

http://www.digitech.com/products/RP150/index.php

you can make ALOT of different soudns with it. idk what kind of music you want to play, but you can get just about anything out of it. your basically getting every pedal you can imagine in one small convenient package, for apretty reasonible price.

I've been playing for more than a year now.
I have alot of catching up to do.
I only know a couple of Nirvana, AC/DC, Ramones and the Clash songs.
I need to learn more...
:/

jacen: haha, ey.. i think were doing amazingly considering only about 3 or 4 people actually post here XD

imagineer: haha i was actually looking at that a few weeks ago.. yea, it is a really good price considering a pedal for only 1 sound alone can be in that price range.. ive just heard from word of mouth that models like that can break easily, so im a bit weary

twinks: haha nice band selections there! and hey, no worries.. your waay ahead of me, so chin up!

yea we are doing preatty well actually i just decided to bumb with flare u kno like falling with style
