EISNER on nightline last night

I would like to see it too as I can hardly believe what I have been hearing on various news reports about what he said. Even the BBC world news is reporting that after the unprecidented 43% no confidence (twice the number that got Steve Case ousted) vote that the board only threw the shareholders a bone by removing Eisner as CEO. What is incredable is that Eisner seems to think this whole thing will go away and he will be keeping his job as it is.

Yeah objective journalism.

Give the boss a forum.

I saw the Nightline thing. Eisner was just really dismissive of everything that Roy and Stanley had to say, but of course wouldn't go into specifics to rebut them, instead just reiterating the "double digit growth" this year and 60% increase in stock price this year mantra. This just shows how completely insular and clueless Eisner and the board are. It looks like Eisner and the board will not leave unless they are actually voted out by a motion on the ballot to get rid of them, or however they do that, not sure of the board rules. The sad thing is, that even if that is accomplished and they are forced out, they will probably still leave scratching their heads and wondering why. Just unbelievable. I'm sure they're all decent people and think they're doing the right thing, but they just can't seem to grasp the fact that you can't just dismiss the votes and the points made by THAT MANY various and diverse shareholders, both individual and institutional, as crackpots.

I don't think people get it.

Roy spend a lot of money - for nothing - whilst at Disney - much of it on getting his own special office under the ear embezzeled hat!

Roy spend thousands if not hundreds of thousands of US dollars (millions I think - around 2.8?) on pet projects - which he axed.

Eisner bullied him out and saved Disney from what was described at the time as 'certain liquidation'.

Things aren't so good now.

Roy Disney --> sounds like Walt Disney --> Saviour

If there is logic to this, then this law student and Disney shareholder doesn't get it.
