Eight Excellent Nights of Disney Dining - Deluxe Style

OOOHHH!!! Totally jumping on board here. I can't wait to see more reviews! it was fun to see the Harry Potter stuff. We're not doing HP this Sept since it's our DD4's first time to Disney. But I do wish I could get a hold of a pumkin tart ! :lmao:

But we are doing DxDpl for the first time, so it was awesome to read that you didn't gain weight doing it ! That is very encouraging!

I look forward to seeing all your reviews!!! :cool1:

Oh I am so in for this! I can't wait to read more of your reviews. We  the DxDDP too!

Thanks for the HP pics! We can't wait to try Pumpkin Juice and Butterbeer! :drinking:

I think a pumpkin tart and pumpkin juice will make an excellant breakfast one of the mornings I'm at Harry Potter.

Great reviews so far those hp treats look great. Can't wait for more

Subscribing! Heading to UO before Disney at the end of august and looking forward to the reviews from there! (and disney of course)

As an aside, could I suggest that you post your pictures over on the Universal boards as well - the fans over there would absolutely love them :thumbsup2 There is a thread specifically for pictures of Universal food.
Could you post a link to this thread? I can't seem to find it. :confused3

Thanks! :goodvibes

Hiiiii!!! I'm here!!!! Great start so far!! The pics aren't showing up for me though boo! Can't wait to read more!! :goodvibes:goodvibes

Hi everyone! Sorry for the delay (and I haven't gotten around to posting my US food on the US pages yet....I will, though!)

Here is our first day at Disney - OOP because we left Universal early and did a one night, room only ressie.

Captain Cook's
I had the grilled chicken caesar salad. Very good and fresh! Really enjoyed the salad greens, chicken and dressing, but not the wonton garnish. They were very hard and stale, and my DD bit one and hurt her tooth....actually, she loosened a baby tooth, but I guess that's ok because it's a baby tooth....:confused3

DH had the Aloha Pulled Pork sandwich. The Polynesian chips are awesome!
CIMG6114.jpg

Not the best pic - sorry!

DD had the kids turkey and cheese sandwich.
CIMG6109.jpg

DS had.....um....wait.....CHICKEN NUGGETS!!! :rotfl:
CIMG6110.jpg

Dole Whip for dessert!

Ok, I have to find my salad picture. Be back soon with Paradiso 37 and more detailed reviews!

What happened to my pictures?!?!?!?! Oh no.....I have to fix everything!!! :confused3:confused3:confused3:eek::eek::eek::confused3:confused3:confused3

I'm so excited I was following your live report (well I found it today and read the whole thing at work ) I can't wait to read your reviews!!!

I'm glad you enjoyed the live report. I hope the dining report and trip report I'm working on are helpful to you as well!

Can't wait for the pics and reviews! You have a great list of restaurants. Any reason why you didn't choose to go to Calif Grill? Just curious.

I wanted to do Cali Grill, but DH didn't want to. We were also going to do Artist Point, but ran out of dining credits (due to DH not following the "plan" at breakfast one morning! LOL!) AP and Cali Grill will be "must do's" for our next trip - which is a long way away.....:sad2:

[I'm in and can't wait for your reviews and pictures! /QUOTE]

Glad you're in! Hope the pics live up to the DISboard standards!

I'll be looking forward to your pictures tomorrow
I'm attempting to get a few good reviews in each day. I'll be away this weekend, so I'll see what I can get done today and tomorrow.

Looks like you ate at a lot of great places!
Thanks! Yeah, I enjoyed all of our meals, but nothing was "outstanding." There a few places we didn't get to and I wish we had....

subbing!!!!
Welcome!

I'm in - a few places we haven't been yet or meals we haven't had at places we like (such as dinner at the GFC).

GFC was GREAT for dinner! I really enjoyed our meal there. It's probably in the top 5 of our trip!

Im here lets get started~ LOL
I'm going as fast as I can! LOL! ;)

Sounds great, looking forward to reading the reviews. Whenever you're ready
I've started and I am determined to finish! :woohoo:

Can't wait to hear about the food at Harry Potter!
HP food was awesome to see come to life! You can really see all the detail and thought put in to each and every goody!

can't wait to hear more.
Can't wait to share it all!

Wow, a great start to your reviews. We are so excited to visit WWOHP next month. DH will definitely want one of those pumpkin tarts.

As an aside, could I suggest that you post your pictures over on the Universal boards as well - the fans over there would absolutely love them There is a thread specifically for pictures of Universal food.

Thanks - I'm glad you're enjoying!
I'm working on fixing my links so I can get them on the Universal board as well!

Harry Potter was fun but crazy crowded. I'd wait until the hype dies down somewhat...
If you choose salads for your appetizer for most meals and drink diet soda or unsweetened iced tea, use snacks for water and limit alcohol, I think the DX plan can be quite enjoyable without gaining weight. And I did indulge, just not at every meal.

Oh I am so in for this! I can't wait to read more of your reviews. We the DxDDP too!
I do :lovestruc the DxDP. It's a great value for my family! I hope you enjoy the reviews.

Thanks for the HP pics! We can't wait to try Pumpkin Juice and Butterbeer!

You're welcome!

Yay! I have a following! :thumbsup2

Nothing wrong with that!

Welcome! I think it's best to do US/IOA first, then head to Disney. Enjoy the reviews!

I'm in - loved the live report!!!
Welcome and thank you! I had a great time reporting live from US/IOA and WDW!!!

Hiiiii!!! I'm here!!!! Great start so far!! The pics aren't showing up for me though boo! Can't wait to read more!!
Glad to see you here, Princess Allegra! I am working on fixing my pics!

OK, I'm going to go fix the rest of my pictures and hopefully get my Paradiso 37 review in as well. :yay:

This place was awesome! The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was so flavorful and fresh and the presentations are awesome!

Here we have chips with salsa. The chips come in a little paper bag and the salsa has a nice, mellow smokey flavor. Not spicy at all. Very rich and deep.

CIMG6137.jpg

I ordered the Baja Fish Tacos with salad. The tacos were so flavorful and juicy. This is one of the best meals I have had.....ever!

CIMG6138.jpg

DH had the chicken burrito. He's lactose intolerant so he always asks for no cheese or sour cream. Many times, restaurants mess up and put the dairy products on anyway, but he was very happy that his meal came out right the first time.

He said it was so good. Flavorful, not spicy, and a great portion size. It came with cilantro rice and black beans. I tasted the rice and beans and they were awesome!

CIMG6141.jpg

DD had the kids tacos. She chose soft tortillas and beef. It also came with the cilantro rice and black beans. She had fun making her tacos and she loved everything on her plate!

CIMG6140.jpg

Yes, that is the size of the kids meal. HUGE!!!

DS had chicken.....don't be too surprised. LOL! ;) And I didn't photograph it. Sorry....

For dessert we had the mini ice cream cones. SO CUTE! There was vanilla, chocolate, strawberry and cookies n cream ice creams. I had the chocolate and strawberry and the kids had the vanilla and cookies and cream.

CIMG6143.jpg

We also had the churros and sopapillas. My DH practically melts over any fried dough that is dipped in sugar, so he was a happy man!

CIMG6145.jpg

I highly recommend Paradiso 37 and will definitely make it a point to dine there again on a future visit. I don't believe they accept the DDP, though. But we were still OOP at this meal.

Up next, day 1 of the DXDP. Breakfast at Season's, lunch at Elecric Umbrella (more out of necessity than desire) and dinner at 'Ohana. More on the lunch being necessary.....

We stopped at Goofy's Candy Co. before heading back to the hotel. The kids made their own treats - DS a caramel/chocolate apple dipped in reese's pieces and DD made the marshmallows which she had dipped in milk chocolate, oreos and a white chocolate drizzle. We snacked on these a little each night.

DS's apple creation:

Display cases at Goofy's. Drool-worthy!

My teeth hurt just looking at all the sweets.....we ended up getting one of the Minnie Mouse apples, but from the Confectionary on Main Street on our last night. We had a few slices and it's still in the fridge. We'll have to finish it tonight. It's really good - sweet and caramelly with hints of butter from the caramel and white chocolate, but it's balanced nicely with the tartness from the granny smith apple. Delish!

sure makes the turkey sandwich and Sun Chips, I just had for lunch, look kind of crappy ......:lmao::lmao::lmao:

OMG! I want to go to WWOHP!! LOL Im a disney fanatic but I also love HP! Anyway what is a traditional english breakfast and wow your fish tacos look great and I cant wait to try the aloha pork sandwhich at Capt Cooks, tell me you tried the grilled cheese I so want that tooo! LOL

Subbing!! Thanks so much for the WWOHP info as well. We're thinking of taking a day there during our trip in January for DS. Last year he "suffered" through several princess meals so I think a day at UO for him is only fair. Can't wait for more, especially Coral Reef. We have that booked for January, but I'm really unsure about it.
