Egg Salad Sandwiches

My egg salad is eggs, miracle whip, small squirt of mustard, S&P.

My SO's egg salad is eggs, mayo, pickle relish, large squirt of mustard, S&P.

So am I the only one who puts green olives in theirs?
It can vary depending on what I have on had and how much trouble I want to go to (and what seasonings I can find in the pantry)
Eggs, Mayo and green olives with a pinch or 2 of seasoning salt, pepper, curry powder, celery salt, grainy mustard, dill weed

If I am out of olives I will use capers or dill relish

nope my Grandma puts it in hers. Sorry but it makes look odd and gives it an even funkier smell. But I also don't like green olives.....BLECH!!!

I just had it for lunch yesterday and today. I made it with just hard boiled eggs and mayo. Just try not to put too much on the bread otherwise it will start to spill out the sides. Did that this morning when I made my lunch and had to use a fork to get the salad that spilled out onto my plate.

Okay, I guess my recipe is unique so I'll share...

When I was in college I did a round of student teaching at a pre-school. They make a healthy snack every day and one of the kids' favorites was egg salad. They did the usual chopped eggs and mayo but they also added chunks of tomato and cucumber. It is delicious that way and the only was I have made it ever since!

Yum...now I'm hungry.

That sounds delicious! I'm gonna try that the next time I make egg salad!

I make mine with hardboiled eggs, salt, pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, diced dill pickles, and any other seasonings that happen to strike my fancy at the time (oregano, thyme, montreal steak seasoning, etc...). I've also been known to add a can of drained tuna and make it tuna salad.

Yum! I made deviled eggs yesterday, that's almost like egg salad... well, sort of. I like my egg salad with mayo, a little mustard, salt and pepper, and some pickle relish.

That's my way too! Now I'm craving egg salad. Good thing with Easter here! Timely thread!

Nobody else puts a dash of ranch dressing in theirs? Our egg salad recipe:

Miracle Whip
spicy brown mustard (just a dab)
ranch dressing (the powdered kind)
dash of salt
dash of pepper

YUM!

I just use my deviled egg recipe and smoosh everything together. On really fresh white bread.

OH GREAT!! Now I want egg salad sammies. I guess I know what's for dinner.

Two of my favorite things in this world are chocolate and bacon. I don't recommend the chocolate for egg salad, but definietly the bacon! It'll give it a great taste - just crumble up some cooked bacon and mix it in with the other ingredients.

I make mine with eggs, mayo and pepper (just a dash) no mustard for me it ruins the taste for me, but I know lots that like it that way.



Now I want egg salad, so I'm going to hard boil some eggs!

I don't do the egg salad, but I will slice a hard boiled egg, spread some mayo on toast, add a slice of cheese and have a hard boiled egg sandwich. The warm toast melts the cheese just enough. Yummy!

Only prob with that is I don't like the consistancy of egg yolks unless they are massed up with a little mayo or butter. I love boiled eggs I just have to destroy the yolks first LOL

Thanks to this thread I made my first ever egg salad today. I don't know why I never had it before. Anyhow, it's delicious! I just used mayo, little dribble of mustard, salt, pepper and my secret ingredient sugar. Oh yeah and I added some green onions too. Yummy stuff.
