Effortless ADR's except CRT

Today was day 180. As we are DVC, I had to call. I called and was on hold until 7:07. I was done at 7:18.

I got the following ADRs:

10/14 Brown Derby Fantasmic 4 pm (wanted 6 pm)
10/15 Crystal Palace 9:30 am
1900 Park Fare 7:00 pm
10/16 Tusker House 8:00 am
O'Hana's 6:55 pm (wanted 7 pm)
10/17 Akershus 8:25 am (wanted 8:30 am)
Le Cellier 2:05 pm (wanted 2:00 pm)
Coral Reef 8:00 pm
10/18 CRT - requested 1 pm and got it but didn't want to pay in full so
cancelled it (Yikes)
10/19 O'Hana's 9:30 am
10/20 Chef Mickey's 9:30 am

What are my chances of getting CRT once I add the Dining Plan which will probably not be until August?

We did CRT and BBB when our daughter was 4. She will be 7 this year and will be our second and probably last trip for a very long while. Would it be so terrible if we didn't do CRT and/or BBB? We are doing MNSSHP that night.

I beleive the pay in full is part of the new policy for the Signature Dining Restaurants. I'm pretty sure even under the Dining Plan they will require this for CRT. I'd advise that you call back tomorrow and book it. They will refund your card if you do the Dining Plan and use Credits for CRT.

If you have the dining plan booked already, you don't need to prepay.

When I booked our CRT reservation yesterday, I just prepaid because we aren't adding the dinning plan until like 3 weeks before our trip.

Did they actually charge you for it? Or was it for a credit card guarantee? They took our card because every restaurant we booked has the credit card guarantee. The only one that was charged was CRT, but we don't have the dining plan yet. I know there is a thread somewhere on here about the new guarantee. I'm on my phone so I can't link it for you or I would

Had to give the credit card number for authorization for all of mine as they are all under the new policy, except CRT and Akershus which required them before this policy started.

I have the dining plan already and linked it when making my reservations. I was not charged for CRT.

But as to the OP’s question, I’m sure your trip will be just great whether you have that or not.

You can still dress her up if she wants to and if your schedule permits, there's 1900 Park Fare and Akershus for princesses. We didn't have BBB or CRT our first trip when my dd was 7. I put her hair up and got her a formal dress and we had lunch at Akershus and she was happy.

1900 Park Fare may be more doable being just a monorail or boat (I think) ride away from MK at the Grand Floridian.

I just booked my ADRs too. We reserved CRT and had to pay it in full (it's just a cc hold if you have dp). We plan to add the dp in August. When we add it, I will call and have the charge reversed. So, we will carry the cost for a few months. You can always wait and try for CRT, but it will be very hard to get at that point.

Pay in full is not for signatures, it's for the certain locations, and only if you don't already have the dining plan attached (Cinderella's Royal Table, Hoop Dee Do Review, Mickey's Backyard BBQ, Spirit of Aloha Luau). It's also not new, because we had to pay for the Hoop Dee Do last year and in 2004.

From what I heard this was put inplace to stop people from making Ressie at several places for the same date & time, then deciding that day were to go eat. In listening to the Dis-Unplugged they seem to believe that this has helped open up some avaibility at several restaurants especially in World Showcase at EPCOT.

If it were me and I really wanted CRT, I'd call back pronto and book it- even if it means paying OOP right now. While it's easier to get into CRT w/the pre-payment requirement for non-DDP people or anyone booking online, it's still one of the most popular dining experiences. And while we all know slots can open up if you stalk the site...it's a heck of a lot easier when you just have it booked way in advance and don't have to go to all that trouble.

After you add DDP to your pkg, you can call back and they'll refund your $ (more complicated than it sounds- 2 man job).

There are only two restaurants in the WS that use the credit card guarantee: Le Cellier and Akerhaus. So I doubt the new system has had that much of an impact on the other XX number of WS restaurants that don't use the guarantee.
