Effectiveness of Touring Plans

I had my December trip planned with TP and then got there and completely ditched it. Did use the Lines app extensively however, that alone is worth the subscription.

I love TP! Have used it on all of our vacations. They are especially effective for touring from rope drop till lunch, then we kind of float and do what seems fun. One morning at MK we rode space mountain twice, Astro orbiter, buzz, dumbo, speedway, under the sea, met Ariel, 7 dwarfs,
Peter Pan, tea cups, Winnie the Pooh and small world all before lunch. And we were a party of 11 with kids!

I think they can be a guide for the three easier parks. After studying them you will know what to do. However for MK they can really help get the most out of the number of rides... TP in particular can be tuned for MK to get many more rides in. Also say you want to ride SOARIN three times in one day. A touring plan from TP can get you there...

This is our plan to a tee. We think we will get the most out of the plan in the morning and then hope to be more relaxed after our midday break.

Another benefit for me that I haven't seen mentioned is that they added the showtimes which really helps us on our Hollywood Studios days.

@lentesta I would also love to see the characters they don't necessarily have a fastpass added in. (Baloo and Louie, Pocahontas, Epcot World Showcase princesses) I have to add in breaks or a note.

And I do have trouble getting the preferred showtimes to always stick sometimes I have to add a phony fastpass in for it, but it doesn't work with things like celebrate the magic or MSEP.

Loving the new explanations for optimize and evaluate. I'm sure it helps a lot of newbies out!

Give them a try, and see if they suit your family's style. We tried them, and ultimately decided that much structure doesn't suit our personalities. But they're worth trying.

I like TP for the crowd predictor, lines app and some other resources for planning/information.

I don't used a true touring plan. I have a rough idea of areas I want to hit and schedule my FP's accordingly, etc.

I try to be more relaxed. I still hit everything and hit rides we love more than a few times!

Of course, everyone is different. However you vacation, just be sure to stop and smell the roses now and then in the parks!

Preparing for our July trip and now using touring plans to help us mitigate the summer crowds. For those who have used them in the past; how effective are Touring Plans? Would you use them again? Did they pan out as they predict?

Thanks!

We went to WDW last July 21-23 and utilized Touring Plans as it was our trip to WDW. We only followed the Epcot one for the first hour or so, and then ditched it as we realized we were going to take our time getting around to each country and by the end of the afternoon we had reservations at Garden Grill, however all the "rides" had 5 minute waits (except soarin).

We followed the plan meticulous at MK and so glad that we did! It kept us on schedule and never once did we feel rushed or felt like we were falling out of order with our plan. Gaston put a 15 minute dent in our schedule, but by then because the wait times were shorter, we did not lose out on our next item after Gaston.

We will be utilizing Touring Plans again for our visit next summer.

Disneyland Touring Plans on the other hand was quite the opposite experience... we ditched our plan within the first three rides...
