Eek...just made my first offer on a resale contract.

After our last trip to WDW (our fourth since 2022!), I realized that it really was my entire family's "happy place." Then when we watched the Happily Ever After Fireworks (twice--I'm a sucker for the fireworks in front of the of castle), I realized we deserved our own happily ever after too. (We've been through a lot as a family in the last several years). I'm sure this is jus the beginning, but YAY! I finally took the next step!

Thanks for sharing and hope the ROFR process goes well for you.

As you progress on the journey the add-on bug is strong. Just be mindful to structure the membership in a way that doesn't cause too much difficulty. For example, for most I'd recommend keeping your points in a single use year and likely at the same resort until you have enough to do what you want and then branch out from there.

I stalked and waited for my first resale "Cinderella" contract for nearly six months. My criteria was that it had to be a specific resort, specific use year, a fairly tight range of points, and hit a given price range. When the contract came up for sale, it hit all of those goals AND came fully loaded. I couldn't dial the phone fast enough to call Fidelity and put in a full price offer. According to the broker, I was the first person who called, and the email had only gone out five minutes earlier.

For my next resale contract, I looked around to see what was available, found one that had been listed a week earlier with no sale yet, and made an offer which was lower than the already below market price, and it was accepted.

There's a common disease called "addonitis" among DVC owners. You'll get it, and will never stop trolling the sale listings for additional points at a "good deal".

There are so many stories like these on this board; They give me so much more patience! 🤣

Sticking to my UY and number of points I want is proving quite the mental challenge this morning LOL
That near perfect contract will pop up. Although I know it seems like it won't.

With that said I 100% totally get it. I made my choice and I still thought this morning about BLT even though that was not my choice just because one in my UY popped up with extra points. I came back to reality and still waiting for teh one I need to show up.

Offer declined, although I am not surpised or disappointed. Just happy to be on the journey and will wait until the right one comes my way. :-)
What resort are you looking at for your first DVC home :rolleyes1 Can you share what your offer was, $ per point/resort :confused3

So I went back to my original plan to buy SSR. We are planning on visiting as many as resorts as possible, and aren’t really particularly invested in any one specific resort. So it makes sense for us to buy more points at a lesser or per point cost. We also find Saratoga Springs beautiful and peaceful so we’ll be happy there too.

So now we are actually under contract as soon as they send it to me to sign. 160 points at Saratoga Springs for 85 a point!!

I can’t believe I did it!!!
