Just signed up to go back to school in Jan!
I have been a Hirdresser for 25 years, and I do have a degree in food science(applied science degree) but it has been many years for that.

I want to work in an office(I can no longer stand at work)
I have been running some offices for Landscape companies, but I am sick of this "seasonal" work.......

I have always wanted to go to school for Medical Office....
so that is what I am doing.....for a certificate!

there is always plently of jobs around here for that!!!

does anyone here work in this field?? any suggestions? comments?:teacher:

(maybe I can learn how to spell to!!)

No suggestions, just wanted to say GOOD FOR YOU! That's wonderful that you're going back to school. I've been considering doing that myself. Wishing you the best of luck and success!

No suggestions here either, just congratulations! Best of luck to you. :)

I went back to school at 32 ish and have not looked back.

Its sometimes challenging (just this week I had a final), but it is worth it!

I have a girlfriend (44ish) who just went back to school this fall in nursing. She loves it!! Have fun!:D

Good for you! With your certification, you'll also be able to work on hospital units such as Cardiac, Pediatrics, Labor & Delivery, etc. You might find that more rewarding than a doctor's office, just a thought. Hospitals usually (but not always) offer better benefits as well. :)

Good luck, disneyworld!
I've been doing hair for 22 years this June coming up. It does get hard on the body, doesn't it? I have played around with the idea of going back to school also.

It's always exciting to hear of someone changing gears and going for their dream. I wish you well and keep us posted as to how it's going.:D

If you can go into the billing side or medical record coding you will have the best chance of a good paying job. Unless you are the office manager, for a large practice, the regular office jobs do not pay that much. Just an FYI.

Good for you!!! I went back last year (a total career switch) and hopefully after a lot of hard work and studying I will be teaching full time in the next few years.

Being back in school can be challenging at times, but well worth the effort!

Congratulations!!!!

:sunny:
