kbkids said:My son stepped on my toe in October while we were in Disney. It hurt sooo bad. When we got home, I took off the polish, and the entire nail was black. It fell off in January, and it has grown out about midway as of today. It's warm here, and I was going nuts wanting to wear my sandals. I live in flip flops in the summer. So, last night, I broke down and painted it, along with my skin on the missing part. You can tell if you look closely at it, but it works enough for me to feel comfortable in sandals.
You can do that, that is perfectly FINE!
I had to have BOTH my big toenails surgically removed as I was suffering horribly with ingrown toenails. This was 15 years ago. Now podiatrists just basically STRIP the sides of the nails LEAVING the nail in place....in any event my nails are GONE! And I have my pedicurist PAINT them all the time. ESP if there is any event I am going to and I am wearing dress sandals or dress shoes that will expose my toe nails. I will say the nailpolish comes off quicker on these toes as there is NO nail to adhere the paint. But for the time being it does look nice and unnoticeable to anyone who happens to glance down at my toes. The best part of all is I never suffer anymore with those ingrown toe nails..ouch!!!
