If opening time is posted as 8 early entry is 7 a.m., correct? No earlier?

Also Someone mentioned getting into DCA early if you stay at GC. I thought DCA didn't participate in any EE.

Yes, if the park opens at 8:00, then EE is at 7:00.

GCH guests (and any DL hotel guests I believe) can enter through the special entrance to DCA 1/2 hour early to ride Soarin only I think.

dr64 is correct, however don't count on exactly 30 minutes early for DCA. The other day, it was ALMOST 9:45 before they opened the gates.

I strongly recommend using the 7:00am early entry, as you can get a lot done, if that is your goal.

When we were there in early January (busy), DL opened at 7am for ee (regular 8 am). We went to the front gates between 6:30a and 6:45a (ugh).

DCA, however, did not open until 10A. I think this is a pretty typical start time for DCA. We went through the GCH entrance since we were staying there. We'd been told they would open at 9:30A. However, they had to wait for an all clear via walkie talkie from the DCA maingate before they opened. The all clear was a signal that the main gate was opening and so could the GCH gate. There was no advantage given to the GCH gate opening any earlier than the main gate. The only advantage was that the GCH gate was so close to Soaring that you can get on pretty quickly.

Thanks for the advice. We are staying at GC so I will try Soar'n early one morn.

I am very new with this DL planning......we have been WDW visitors-and now I seem to have gotten bit by another bug! I see that Ee is early entry, but is it not like WDW(extra magic hours)? I keep reading trip reports for DL and people state they used their Ee as if they only get one? If we stay onsite do we get it every day? Not sure if we will stay onsite, but if we do not we actually can have Ee? TIA

If you stay onsite, you get ee each day that ee is offered. It isn't offered everyday, but is offered several times a week. Have you read Hydroguys thread on DL for people that have only been to WDW? I think you can find a link for it somewhere on the DL board. It was written especially for people like you and is extremely helpful.

Its like HoneyMom said EE is offered currently only at DL not DCA. The days are Mon,Tues,Thurs and Sat. Park Hoppers w/bonus has 1 early entry but if you stay at any of the 3 Disney Hotels ~ DLH, PP or GC you can do EE everyday that it is ofered. EE is being allowed in 1 hour before the official opening time. Unfortunately they do not offer EMH like WDW (we really enjoy staying the 3 extra hours at night; great perk :goodvibes ). I believe they open DCA 30 minutes early for guests at GC and the other Disney hotels but I think only Soar'n is open.Fastpass is also different at DL so make sure that you read Hydroguys helpful guide. Enjoy and let us know what you decide.

I was so happy to read this thread, thanks for the info. I called my travel agent today to see if our 3 day park hoppers we got with the package include an early entry day and she said it does. Yay!! :yay: We will definately be doing this on the Thursday of our visit.

Can you tell I'm excited? LOL!

just to add another note - some employees are not aware of the EE policy for those staying on site (you can go every day). When we tried to EE on Thursday, the computer beep the message "no uses left". I immediately thought that meant no days left on the park hoppers, but what it meant was that we had used up the EE days. He called a supervisor, and she just said to override it, since we were staying in a DL hotel. So, it just goes to show you that even some of the gate operators aren't quite sure of the rules.
