Which of the two rides that are converting to non-VQ status next week will have the longer lines at park opening? Do you think that this will ease the lines for Remy/Frozen at Epcot and Tron/SDMT at the MK in the morning? Interested on opinions.

GotG will have longer lines. It’s a big thrill ride in a park that has no other thrill rides. Because of the location I doubt it will take away much from Remy but maybe some from Frozen. People entering from main gate shouldn’t rope drop Remy and people entering from International Gate shouldn’t rope drop GotG.

Tiana will not be open during EE. Perhaps the Adventureland rope drop will be heavier, but Tiana is on LLMP, whereas Tron and 7DMT are not. I think they will remain the main draw for morning.

GOTG. Tiana will grow as the weather gets more consistently warm.

I expect GOTG to drop the wait for Frozen during EE. Remy will still be full during EE as it's initially filled by IG crowds but I think it will see a bit of easing after park open as non-EE crowds will go for GOTG instead of Remy.

I'm personally happy about the news, as I hope it will make our FEA rope drop a bit less stressful!

Question on GotG. My spouse gets motion sickness on screen based rides like Star Tours. She does fine on coasters. Should she skip this?

Unfortunately there is no way to know, this ride movement is an industry first so people who never get sick are getting sick sometimes and then some who often get sick aren't getting sick. If she takes motion meds I'd suggest she take them and try.

My top tip is ignore the screens, the coaster is a blast and the screens are a boring story about saving the world or something. With my crew it was the ones who tried to watch the screens who got motion sick vs those of us just enjoying the coasting thrill.

Search on here as there are lots of tips about MS on GotG. One major tip is to not look at the moon when on the ride. You will know it when you see it. There are also tips as to what row to try and sit in. I know my friend who has MS did row 5 this past trip and said it would be her last time on GOTG.

Firm agree here. I think people are going to continue to prioritize LLSP over LLMP at RD for the cost savings.

Very interested to see if they do anything at all with moving the IG "rope" further into the park so that Skyliner and Crescent Lake resorts aren't at such a disadvantage relative to front guests for GotG. Epcot hasn't had such an obvious, head and shoulders higher RD priority in quite a while.

I am the same as your spouse. On GotG I don't look at the screens. I enjoy it as a coaster. The first time I tried to watch the screens and I had to stop, sit, and sip on water for a good 20+ minutes. The second time I decided to ignore the screens and, while I had a little dizziness, I was fine within moments of it stopping.

The ride is 100% worth it though.

That's a bit harsh - some of us enjoy the story also, and the moon shot is cool. I can watch the screens as long as I haven't just had a big lunch!

There are a lot more people that have to come in via the front entrance. Right now the IG definitely has the advantage with the ability to book Frozen as a LLMP, GoG as a LLSP, and rope drop Ratatouille. I know that when Test Track reopens that this will be evened out, but give the people that have to come in via the front entrance a break.

WOW! In the span of 10 minutes, I saw the GoG wait jump from 50 minutes to 170 minutes! 9:15 am - 9:25 am

I also noticed that the Star Lord character is "roaming around the jump ship" on the schedule for today. Has anyone ever seen that before?

Editing to add that over at MK as of 9:30 am, Tiana's is temporarily closed

Editing again to add that Frozen Ever After is temporarily closed at Epcot, so that could have pushed more to go straight to GoG, or hop in line ot meet Elsa and Anna (65m wait)

Update as of 10:10 am:
Tiana's has a 20 minute wait
GoG has a 65 minute wait

Those are reasonable. I will check back throughout the day. Personally, I'd go in the standby queue for GoG if it said 65 minutes. That's on the long side of what I've waited for in the VQ line, but it does compare.

Editing to add that, as of 10:45 am, FEA is still closed at Epcot. That skews the wait times, as its a Tier 1 ride. Will be interesting to see what it looks like tomorrow if all of Epcot's Tier 1's are up and running.

It has not been my experience that the IG is really an advantage in the morning. Remember that the Skyliner now drops a good number of people off at the IG, and the IG entrance is pretty tiny. I've also been there a number of times when the IG did not open up as early as the front entrance. It can be frustrating if you arrived early, but are stuck outside the park at the IG and watching people streaming into Rat.

Anyone can book the LL, at least onsite. I would not call that an advantage. Booking an IG/Skyliner hotel is also open to everyone.

In the morning, Rat gets backed up pretty quickly, but FEA is a much easier rope Drop option. Just, if you arrive there a few minutes after RD, the wait will still be pretty short. The only catch with doing Rat later is the extra walking back to Rat.

That said, the crowds at Epcot will now have a number of different options in the morning, which is good for everyone.
