Hi all!

We'll be making our trip to the World in Sept. My mother will be coming along on this trip. This is her first visit to WDW and will have her own personal ECV. I already have our ADRs set. My question is what do we do with the ECV when going into a restaurant? She is able to walk a very short distance but are ECVs left at the entrance of the restaurant or brought in to our table? Also, are there areas in the parks to charge the ECV?

Thank you!! :)

You can park an ECV outside the restaurant, just like you would a stroller. If the battery has a full charge at the beginning of the day, it should be good to go all day. She should plan on recharging it all night every night at the hotel. For an emergency charge we've "plugged in" at restaurants. Just ask a cast member where to find an outlet. They've always been very accommodating.

A lot depends on the Restaurant as far as parking is concerned; especially how big is the lobby.

Usually no trouble parking outside the restaurant. Some places get really crowded for parking strollers and ECVs--like Crystal Palace. In that case, I ride as close to the door as I can, get out, and then someone in my party parks the ECV for me. I have seen a few ECVs in restaurants at tables, but they are usually in the way. If unable to walk from the entrance to the table, I would ride to the table, if allowed, get out and sit, and have a family member take the ECV outside. Disney is very accommodating and I'm sure they will work with you to come up with a plan.

DW uses the ECV. We take it to the table and I drive it back out; however there are times she chooses to stay in the ECV and we've not had any trouble.
If we explain we'll transfer to a chair or not the host(esses) are accommodating.

I used an ECV for the first time for this past trip. For all of the restaurants, I just parked it outside, and walked in on a crutch. Mainly because it was a personal choice and I felt claustrophobic and cumbersome on a scooter in a crowded place. I didn't feel comfortable on a scooter in the shops, for example.

I imagine the Disney restaurants would be accomodating, however, if you chose to bring your ECV in. the space would depend on the restaurant though. le Cellier, for example, seemed kind of "tight," but Jiko seemed to have ample space to roam about when we were there.

When I needed a charge in the MK, a cast member directed me to an outlet in the arches under the train station.
