Is there enough room in the 2BR to store and charge an ECV? My mother is coming with us this trip and I am not very familiar with ECV's. Before we rent her one for the entire trip(rather than worrying whether or not one will be availble at the parks, especailly in the afternoons/evenings), I want to know the logistics of storing and charging one in the room. Thanks.

You'll have plenty of room. :sunny:

My sister gets one each time we go, usually in a 1 bdrm..but..we have also had one in a studio with not too much problems (little tight here and there)....but certainly doable!!

Its great how they deliver and pick up directly to the resort!! :goodvibes

Where are you staying???

There is more than enough room in a 2 bedroom to store/charge an ECV in many locations. The size of most ECV's - ballpark figures - 3 feet wide, 5 feet long, 4 feet high. At OKW it fits perfect next to the living room chair and the wall between the bedroom / living room. It also fits nicely in the Master Bedroom and can fit in the dining area off to the side or in the 2nd bedroom next to the table and chairs. Charging consists of plugging in a power adapter to any AC outlet - I think it takes 4 hours for a full charge (if my memory serves me correctly).

 You should have no problems. I rent an ECV for my wife every time we go.

Based on my experience it's a little tight in a studio. The 2BR villas have more space and can accommodate storage much easier.

We have used one twice when in a 2 bedroom at OKW, and it fits well near the side chair and lamp and plugs into the same outlet with the lamp. It is so easy to park there too!

That is exactly where we store the rented ECV when we are at OKW. Works very well!

What is the "run time" on a fully charged ecv? Would they last all day at the parks (10am to 9pm ish)? or would we have to go back to the resort to charge it mid-day? Also is there anywhere to charge them in the parks? (like during lunch, Indy show, etc.)

The one I rented in December ran for a very long time. I used it about 14-16 hours without a problem. 12 hours should be no problem for you.
BTW, bus transportation was no problem. Very helpful drivers.
Have a great magical visit!

Yep, I think we could have squeeked out more than a day because the battery was still more than half full when we plugged it in at night, but I didn't want to press my luck.

Thanks! I was worried abouy running out of "juice" in the middle of the park. At least with a Disney one, they could replace it. Now I have no qualms about renting outside. Now...any recommendations???

When I remember the name, I'll tell you! There's a place in Kissimmee that rents ECVs and delivers them to the resort. They were very helpful with the whole process and made it easy. I'm sure someone will know the name. I'll go put my magical thinking cap on.....

WE rented from a company called CARE. I got the number through MS. They delivered the cart right to OKW and had it waiting for us when we arrived. When we checked out, we just left the key at the front desk. It was very reasonable. The last time we rented was over a year ago, but I think it was less than $250 for the week. They were wonderful about service too. The first one we had wouldn't charge, so they brought a replacement over right away.
