With ever increasing security precautions, I'm curious about what I might expect when I drive up to airport security in my ECV. I am able to get out and walk through the scanner. Will they take it apart to check for hidden things?
I don't have any ECV experience, but fly fairly regulary. I've only seen regular wheelchairs used, which airlines provide if you don't have one. Are you planning to board a plane with your ECV or just pick someone up? You could always try the www.tsa.gov website for more info. Good luck!
I was planning on riding my ECV to the gate and having it gate checked. I'm pretty sure I can do this. SWA had a spot on my reservation where I could note how many/what kind of batteries I have. I'm sure I'll just allow *plenty* of time to get through security. I was mostly just curious about what actually happens at the checkpoint. We're not leaving for a few months, so I'll just try posting again in a month or so.
