Hi!
I'm sorry if this has been answered before but I need some help with renting ECVs. Our vacation is booked for Sept and my mother who has mobility issues will be traveling with us this time. I will be renting an ECV from applescooters.com for her for our 10day stay. I've never rented an ECV from this type of company before. I know they can deliver to your hotel but do they just leave the ECV at the front desk for you to pick up when you check in, or do I have to meet up with the delivery person. We're using ME from the airport but renting a car from the car care center for our stay, Im just trying to figure out how to time everything. I'm worried that if I do have to meet up with the delivery guy I might miss them on my way to car care center or if my flight or ME is delayed.

Also, we are staying at POR. Is it easy to get around this resort with an ECV? Are there handicap ramps to get to your rooms? I've read they all have a couple of stairs.
Any info is greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, including in Post #2 where people rent ECVs.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.

We always rent an ECV from Walker's Mobility for my mom. It is delivered to baggage services sometime before we arrive. When we arrive, we just go to baggage services and tell them we have an ECV and her name. The ECV always has a name tag on the back of it. The charger will also be on it. Our last day we just take it back to baggage services and turn it in. Walkers then picks it up sometime after we leave. We've never had a problem. I believe Randy's is the only company that requires you to be there for pick up and delivery.

We have stayed at PORS with my mom in the past. The Alligator Bayou buildings do not have an elevator, so if you are in that section, tell them you must have a first floor room due to an ECV. Just call CRO and have the CM add a room request for first floor room due to having an ECV. All the AB buildings are slightly raised off the ground, but each has a ramp. You may have to go all the way around the building to find it though.:rotfl: I know we were in a first floor room on the front side (closest to the food court) in building 18, but had to go all the way around to the back to use the ramp to get to our room. All of the Mansions have elevators.

Thank you both so much for your help!! It's my mothers first visit to Disney and since she's been feeling down because of her mobility issues, I'd like to make this trip as pleasant as possible for her. I can relax a little now with the helpful tips and info. Thanks again!!

I rented one from Apple Scooters last year (since I was in a full leg brace due to a knee injury and on crutches). It was a seemless and easy trasnsaction. They left it for me by the time we arrived at the hotel (POFQ).
I did have one instance where my battery died at the parks and they came and replaced the scooter for me - it was 7:00 at night and they were there in record time.

I highly recommend them and would feel very confident should I ever need to do that again.
