Hey guys!
Thanks for all you're help so far with the EVC questions I have posted. :thumbsup2 Here's another one: I can't decide if I should take my chances and try to rent my ECV daily in the parks or rent one for the week. We are going sometime around June 15. I just had surgery on my back in December and I have Spinal Stenosis, but I can work(I teach 4K) without too many problems-some days are better than others. Thank goodness for Advil and Flexoril!:cool1: We get up and get going fairly early in the mornings and are planning character meals either late in the morning or for dinner so we should be able to hit the parks when they open. I think it would be easier for me to ride the buses and walk into the parks than deal with an ECV with transportation. We are planning on using TourGuideMike to help with crowd control and we don't plan on visiting more than one park per day. We will probably buy Hopper passes because my DH and DD9 plan to take advantage of the late night Magic hours, but DS3 and myself will work on getting some much needed rest. Please be honest and tell me what you think. I know we are going at a busy time, but summer is the only time we can travel except for holidays. Thanks ahead of time for your help! :worship:

You didn't say what resort your're staying at but regardless, walks just from your room to the bus stop can be loooong. Waits for the bus can be long as well. Having the ECV at the hotel can also allow you to take a well rested roll out for an ice-cream or to the pool, instead of being stuck in your room.

I'm not familiar with spinal stenosis, but suffice to say that the resorts are HUGE, you don't want to tire/pain yourself out before you even get to the parks.

If you are afraid of the distance at the resorts, but don't want to do an ECV on the bus, another option would be to rent a wheelchair from an off-site place. You could fold it up on the bus and then rent an ECV when you get to the park. The rental place should have no problem holding your wheelchair for you. If you get to the parks soon after opening, you should have not problem getting an ecv to rent.

Personally I would recommend taking a midday break as you can get a lot done during evening EMH and that will have you (and DS3) napping or relaxing during the hottest part of the day.

And (as Sue hinted) since we don't know where you will be staying, or what room you will be in, you may have a very long distance between your room and everything else at the resort.

Also the off-site ECVs are much easier to manage than the Disney ones.

I suggest paying the extra for a preferred room to cut down on walking at resort. You should be able to get ECV at parks and they are GREAT and then you don't need to worry about parking in room and recharging every night
