Can we bring Mom's ECV on the boat from OKW to DD? The last time we stayed at OKW the boat was a pontoon boat, and I'm not sure if that has changed. If it is still a pontoon, can it accomodate an ECV? Any one have any experience?

I don't know about ECVs, the new boat, though still a pontoon boat, can accomodate wheelchairs. The ramp to the dock is "hidden" over in the main pool area.

Im not sure either but my suggestion would be to check on the "Disabilities" board here on the DIS. ;)

At OKW back in November and I did see someone with an ECV get on the boat from SSR to DTD. Same boat so I don't see a problem

Thanks everyone!!

I am working on scheduling dinner adr's for an upcoming trip and this is a nice transportation option if it works out.

Thank you for the suggestion of checking on the disabilities board, I hadn't thought of that. I'm heading there now. :sunny:

Yes, you can bring an ECV on the OKW boat. We had MIL there in December in an ECV and it was very easy. The only ? part was you have to go all the way over to the pool to find the ramp down to the dock (the boat crew will guide you), but other than that, it's a piece of cake. Very easy at the DTD end.

In fact, we found everything at WDW to be ECV friendly except a couple of the attractions. Winnie the Pooh was downright handicapped-cruel -- to the point that I'm surprised someone hasn't filed an ADA complaint -- but most things were quite easy.

I agree you will have no problem with the new boats.

Thank you!! That is great news. On this past trip we loaded it into the car a couple of times and that was a pain and a half. I know we can always take the bus, but to DD I remember the boat being such a nice trip.
