I am bringing my mom to Universal in December. She is having some mobility issues so we would like to rent an ECV. She is still able to walk short distances but not theme park distances ;)

We are staying at Portofino Bay. Will it fit in our room? Can she take it on the boats? Will bell services take care of delivery and pickup or will we have to meet the company ourselves?

I saw a couple of people like Gold Mobility on previous posts. Any thoughts on that company or another one you like?

Anything else we should consider? This is a first for all of us.

Thank you!

I can't answer all your questions but do know that they will fit on the boats. Also if she is able to walk short distances then I would consider parking it outside Diagon Alley and walking in that area. It is a tight squeeze in there. If she does ride it into diagon alley she should definitely park it outside and not try to take it in the shops, just my 2 cents. I've seen people try to take them into the shops in the wizarding world and it leads to a lot of frustration.

I agree about the shops. There is limited space, unlike Disney stores. I recently sold my ECV and purchased an electric wheelchair (EWC), and even then I wouldn’t take my EWC in the Universal Studios stores. Before I sold my ECV, I loaned it to my granddaughter who was having medical issues, and she was able to take the ECV on the boats from Sapphire Falls Resort. Some of the lines are pretty tight in navigating the sharp turns.

Have your mom practice using ECVs at grocery stores before she goes on your trip. That will be very helpful. Enjoy!

Sorry about the quotes. I need to practice how to reply to posts. 🥹😂
