ECV and canopy question...

I've decided to rent a ECV off site. I decided to go with Walker Mobility since they deliver without you having to be there and I think it was Randy's has to have someone there to take delivery and they don't deliver after 5 pm on Saturday. Since we won't get to the WL until Saturday evening and plan to hit the parks early on Sunday it sounds as if Walker will be the best solution for us.

Does Walker leave you an instruction booklet showing how to dismantle the ECV so we can transport it in our van?

I like the idea of the canopy because I don't like getting to much sun and last time I went I was left in the hot sun waiting for rides and then forgotten about.

Anyway, does the canopy fold down as I would hate it to block anyones view at shows etc....?

I hope that Walker ECV go a lot faster than Disney's. Disney's are so slow it put me off ever renting one again from them.

Thanks in advance.

Walker does not leave a book, but normally has a set of photo instructions. Also, if you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. The third item down is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information, one of the items is instructions on how to disassemble and assemble an ECV. It also talks about getting it into a car's trunk, but with a van you don't have to worry about that.

I own my own ECV and do not have a canopy. I would consider it more bother than it is worth. I don't know if they fold down, but you would probably have to do a lot of manuevering to be able to stay shaded.

As far as speed, the Disney ECVs are limited to 2MPH, which the rentals will go to the normal 4.25-4.5MPH. Definitely faster.

Just call and ask Walker's. I recently rented from Walker's. I rented a compact size car and was asking if it would be too much trouble to assemble/disassemble the canopy, would it fit, etc.--they told me just bring a hat!!! Cost them the $$$ from the rental loss but I got an honest answer. That's why I love Walkers.

I bring a small fold up umbrella for shade. The canopy looks like it might be trouble getting on the busses. I would love to hear anyone experiences with the canopy.
