A lot of the museums in London are free entrance ..... check out the Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The Museum of London, The British Museum. Another good thing to do is take a boat trip up the Thames. You will see a lot of the important sights from the river and it is great way to travel. When visiting London a West End Show is a must ... TKTS is a good place to get discounted tickets on the day, from the booth in the middle of Leicester Square. You can also apply for free tickets to the Ceremony of the Keys at The Tower of London ... happens every night when the Tower is locked up for the night. http://www.hrp.org.uk/TowerOfLondon/WhatsOn/theceremonyofthekeys This is am amazing experience.
Not So (Totally Angelic) Is right there's lots to do, right from one tube station South Kensington you get three museum. The Natural History, The Victoria and Albert and Science Museum and you can pop into Harrods also. Don't forget Churchill War Rooms either. You can also visit the Houses of Parliment if your interested, that didn't cost anything either.
A good web site is visit London, they often have 2 for one ticket deals on various attractions. Last year to qualify you had to have a British Rail ticket so people took a short journey from two stations to qualify.
